OCtober Day 7: Likes

Some of the people who Desa likes :) aka an excuse to draw a whole bunch of my OCs at once

From left to right, we have: Regah, Oasis, Kaien, Kippi, Desa, Iryna, Sabrel, Pyessa, Tahrent, and Dian

More about all of them under the cut !

Regah is the barkeep at the place where Desa met with clients and did some of her work in her time as The Bell. She and Regah ended up being quite good friends.

Oasis is an apothecary who Desa made friends with early in her career. She made poisons for The Bell, and Desa continued as one her regular customers even after retiring as an assassin.

Kaien works at an orange grove quite far away from Fareneth, the city where Desa lives. But she's Kippi's sister, and Desa met her while they were both visiting Kippi's family.

Kippi apprenticed as an assassin under Desa for a few years. They first met by happenstance, but despite herself, Desa found herself really liking Kippi. He's a really funny and earnest, and respects Desa a lot.

Then there's Desa, of course :)

Iryna, better known throughout her country of Eyra as Aei Deive (which would roughly translate to "holy one descended"), is revered as a god in the religion of Feirenism. Desa is a devout Feirenist, and when she gets the opportunity to do a job for Aei Deive, she accepts. As she works, she becomes very close to Iryna.

Sabrel is Aei Deive's chief advisor. She's a very logical person, and excels at her job. Desa ends up liking her a lot for her straightforwardness.

Pyessa is a school teacher, and is also Kippi and Kaien's parent. They work in a government funded school, and teach on Feirenism there. They're a strong believer in the religion.

Tahrent is Pyessa's husband, and Kippi and Kaien's father. He works as a scribe, and, like his spouse, is a Feirenist.

Dian is a member of the Holy Guard, working to protect Aei Deive. He joined the guard after Desa had become its captain, and earned her favor through his eagerness to do a good job.

THAT'S EVERYONE! I'm really glad to have been able to get so many of my OCs in here, even if I did go with a really simple style for the drawing. It makes me happy to see them all together :)

OCtober Day 4: Under Appreciated OC

It's Pyessa !! Though there were a few OCs I was thinking about drawing for today, Pyessa definitely stood out the most. They're a school teacher and a parent of two - Kippi and Kaien :) They're also married to a man named Tahrent.

Pyessa is very religious, and their faith plays a big part in who they are. I LOVE THEM!

Can you tell us more about Pyessa? You said their faith was really important to who they are, how does that tend to manifest for them? Beautiful art btw! 💖

I didn't see this until now so sorry 😭 YES i can talk about Pyessa!!

I mentioned it a little bit more on day 7 (after you sent this, oops 😳), but the religion they believe in is called Feirenism. It's a very common faith in Eyra, their country, as it's upheld by the government. Eyra's monarch, Aei Deive, is also revered a god in Feirenism.

Pyessa is a school teacher. This part of their character is a little rocky at the moment because I'm rethinking how the school system works, but I think they focus on history in their teaching, putting an emphasis on religious history and the stories that Feirenism upholds.

Neither of Pyessa's children ended up being devout. They would both still consider themselves Feirenists, but they don't care that much about it. Kaien moved away from Fareneth, the family's home city and the capital of Eyra, when she was 19 because she wanted to explore religion and culture without her parents' influence. Kippi never devoted himself much to the religion, but ended up apprenticing with Desa, who believes strongly in Feirenism and is favored by Aei Deive Itself. Pyessa doesn't like that he's training to become an assassin, but they fear to protest his path because of its connections with Aei Deive and the gods.

Aside from that, Pyessa also really enjoys collecting talismans and charms, as well as prints of religious art (namely of historic figures and gods) for their home. They also like to buy scented candles. Fire is said to be one of the conduits through which the gods are able to watch the world, so in Feirenism, to keep a flame lit is to allow the gods into your home. There are a lot of chandlers in Fareneth because of this, and most people just buy unscented candles, but Pyessa LOVES to get ones that smell nice :) they make the excuse to themself that they're honoring the gods with the scented candles, but it's (not so) secretly just because they really like them

ANYWAY. I love Pyessa so so much even though I don't talk about them nearly as much as some of my other characters. They've got the most gentle disposition and they give their all in everything that they do

OC-tober Day 5: Relationships

This is a family dinner between (from left to right) Tahrent, Kaien, Kippi, and Pyessa. I didn't really have the time or energy to draw today, so I just did a simple doodle :)
