Two and a half years for Desa! So not all that long really, but long enough that I've been entirely obsessed for over two years. All the other OCs in Desa's story (or most of them) also came around sometime in 2022.

❤️ - What is one of your OC's best memories?

I'm going to do this one for a few of em :)

Iryna - though Iryna has a lot of happy memories from her childhood, probably MY favorite is baking bread with her hometown's innkeeper, Mirall. Mirall's inn was like a second home to Iryna growing up, and baking bread with her was among the warmest, happiest things Iryna ever did. I've been meaning to draw a comic of this forever!!! One day i finally will

Kippi - his first night out with Desa. I don't know if i have ever mentioned it (which is crazy lmao) but Kippi apprenticed under Desa as an assassin for a couple years. One of his best memories is the first time he ever went out on a job with her. He was Bad At It, but he loooved it. And, more begrudgingly, Desa came to love him :)

Dian - I don't talk enough about Dian!!! But his best memory is probably becoming a lieutenant in the Holy Guard of Aei Deive. This is not only a career-defining moment for him, but it also meant a lot for him spiritually, AND it meant that he got to have his boyfriend, Curas, move in with him.

I'm going to save Desa for another ask i got with this question!!! But I'll give you a hint in the meantime and that's that it has to do with a drawing I've done with her mom :)

🧠 - What do you like most about the OC?

Desa - i love her devotion. All the posts you see on this site about the guard dog trope, about unconditional loyalty, it's all her!!! It is sooo her! She will do ANYTHING for the people and things she believes in. It is absolutely to a self-destructive and toxic point. I love her i love her i love her :)

Iryna - the different facets of herself that she holds up for different people. She doesn't know how to be authentic. Authenticity was broken out of her. Everyone she knows sees a different piece of her, depending on what she wants them to see. But as part of this, i love that as her story and character progress, she gets to learn who she is through Desa.

OCtober Day 7: Likes

Some of the people who Desa likes :) aka an excuse to draw a whole bunch of my OCs at once

From left to right, we have: Regah, Oasis, Kaien, Kippi, Desa, Iryna, Sabrel, Pyessa, Tahrent, and Dian

More about all of them under the cut !

Regah is the barkeep at the place where Desa met with clients and did some of her work in her time as The Bell. She and Regah ended up being quite good friends.

Oasis is an apothecary who Desa made friends with early in her career. She made poisons for The Bell, and Desa continued as one her regular customers even after retiring as an assassin.

Kaien works at an orange grove quite far away from Fareneth, the city where Desa lives. But she's Kippi's sister, and Desa met her while they were both visiting Kippi's family.

Kippi apprenticed as an assassin under Desa for a few years. They first met by happenstance, but despite herself, Desa found herself really liking Kippi. He's a really funny and earnest, and respects Desa a lot.

Then there's Desa, of course :)

Iryna, better known throughout her country of Eyra as Aei Deive (which would roughly translate to "holy one descended"), is revered as a god in the religion of Feirenism. Desa is a devout Feirenist, and when she gets the opportunity to do a job for Aei Deive, she accepts. As she works, she becomes very close to Iryna.

Sabrel is Aei Deive's chief advisor. She's a very logical person, and excels at her job. Desa ends up liking her a lot for her straightforwardness.

Pyessa is a school teacher, and is also Kippi and Kaien's parent. They work in a government funded school, and teach on Feirenism there. They're a strong believer in the religion.

Tahrent is Pyessa's husband, and Kippi and Kaien's father. He works as a scribe, and, like his spouse, is a Feirenist.

Dian is a member of the Holy Guard, working to protect Aei Deive. He joined the guard after Desa had become its captain, and earned her favor through his eagerness to do a good job.

THAT'S EVERYONE! I'm really glad to have been able to get so many of my OCs in here, even if I did go with a really simple style for the drawing. It makes me happy to see them all together :)

OCtober Day 10: Personality

🪩 - What was an achievement that your OC felt worthy of celebrating? Was it a personal victory or a big impact on everyone around them?

Kippi has always been really proud and grateful to follow Desa in any capacity. I've talked about how he apprenticed under her as an assassin, which was a very big deal for him, but he got to succeed her in a lot of other roles, too. He's like a shadow for her in a lot of ways :)

When Desa retired as an assassin, he was sad that he didn't get other work with her much anymore, but it also meant that he got to take up the title of Aei Deive's assassin. Even though he doesn't do much in the role (Iryna doesn't like using violence in political situations), it's a huge honor for him - mostly because it means that Desa thought he was fit for the role, and that she recommended him to Iryna. That meant sooo much to him!

I love Kippi, i really need to draw him more 😭 ty for the ask ! :D
