Original Wild West Digimon Line

I made an evolution line for Pyontomon, one of the 5 Digimon created by fans for the Adventure 20th anniversary story project. All of those Digimon are cool but have never been used for anything. If Bandai won't, I will. Links to previous Digifakes at the bottom.

Pyontomon will evolve to Gamblemon. Adult/Champion level, Data attribute, Nature Guardians field. Gamblemon considers itself the foremost gambler of the Digital World. It is a master of games and an expert card shark. What it doesn't tell others is that it's also an accomplished cheater who knows every way to rig a card game in its favor. Gamblemon has amassed a small fortune by swindling Digimon in frontier towns across the Digital World. This forced it to be good in a fight as it often has to deal with angry Digimon out to get their stuff back. Its special moves are attacking with a powerful kick (Rabbit Kick) and hurling razor sharp cards like they're throwing stars (Card Trick).

Gamblemon evolves to Bandidamon, Perfect/Ultimate level, Data Attribute, Nature Guardians field. It is a notorious outlaw that travels through frontier town of the Digital World and brings trouble wherever it goes. Whether it's hustling other Digimon at card games or staging a robbery of a running Locomon, Bandidamon is always at the center of some mischief. However, it has a code of conduct and never steals from the poor or harms young Digimon. It had to develop good fighting skills to get out of the trouble its schemes often bring. Its special moves are firing a round of bullets out of its prized six-shooter (Bunny Barrage) and using its lasso to ensnare and immobilize foes before engaging in hand-to-hand combat (Wrangler).

Bandidamon evolves to MetalBandidamon, Ultimate/Mega level, Data attribute, Metal Empire field. It had upgraded its body with mechanical components to become the ultimate outlaw. It delights in causing chaos, considering the various hold-ups, heists, and shoot-outs it engages in to liven up the hum-drum of daily existence. It is MagnaKidmon's number one target and seems to view their frequent fights as a game. Its right arm contains the Gatling gun Ensalada, made by Volcanusmon. Its special moves are unleashing a rain of bullets from Ensalada (La Balacera) and immobilizing foes with its lasso before tossing lit sticks of dynamite at them (Rabbit's Ruin).

I took the jackalope design of Pyontomon and expanded it into a wild west theme. Gamblemon (I'm open to suggestions on a better name) is based on the idea of a gambler in a saloon beating others at card games, quite possibly with cheating involved. Bandidamon is based on outlaw characters who still have a heart of gold, as seen with Bandidamon having a code of conduct. MetalBandidamon is a cyborg both because I thought it was cool but also because I want more practice drawing mechanical stuff. Bandida means female bandit and balacera is a feminine term for shootout according to an online dictionary I found. Ensalada's name comes from the grand tradition of Volcanusmon's weapons having Spanish food names.

I want to make more evolutions for the memorial fan made Digimon. I have the beginnings of ideas for Rurimon and Aequcedramon

This is Nero, he's the world's most emo pyontomon. He technically should be dead but some weird stuff happened and he's alive, he's not too happy about it

His line is conomon -> bosamon -> pyontomon -> madleomon -> baalmon (in his universe lines only go up to the perfect stage)

A moment of silence for these five Digimon: Pyontomon, Mademon, Ganvivormon, Aequcedramon and Rurimon.

They were created as part of of the Digimon Adventure 20th Memorial Story project, in where the prize was just, and I quote, "Creation of your original Digimon partner & presented as a doll". That's it. So while all five of these were drawn by Kenji Watanabe, they are pretty much just art commissions. The prize was just getting official art and a plushie of your Digimon OC and that's it, nothing about making said OC official official, if you know what I mean. So, it seems extremely unlikely we will ever see any of these in any official Digimon media.

And I think that's a shame, because I really like these designs! Yes, Rurimon is basically just an Agumon recolor, not gonna argue with that, but the other ones at least... Pyontomon's design in particular just screams "Partner of one of the main characters in a Digimon anime", that jackalope mon deserves more love!

(I saw a Reddit comment saying that Rurimon and Pyontomon would so be the partners of the "Tai and Matt" of their series, that it would be really cool to see a dragonman mage instead of the usual paladin/warrior, and that also both have horns so maybe they can digivolve into something that parallels each other. And I'm mad now because yes I can see that and NOW I NEED THAT, FUCK.)

As a sidenote, Mademon's and Ganvivormon's meta backstories are positively heartwrenching: Mademon was based on the creator's childhood dog. And Ganvivormon was designed like that because the creator's wife was battling cancer at the time, and he wanted to gift her something to make her feel better...
