         she hummed, a smile appearing on her face as she leaned into pyrrha’s touch. yang’s smile widened as she was kissed, nodding in response to her girlfriend’s question.

         the blonde mumbled and before pyrrha could question her again, she lifted her head slightly to press her lips to her lover’s. she let it linger for a moment before resting back on the red head’s lap, a goofy grin settling on her face.

ON AN AVERAGE DAY, WHAT CAN BE FOUND IN YOUR CHARACTER’S POCKETS?

during his time in beacon ren didn’t carry anything in his pockets regularly. he’s always lived a kind of minimalist lifestyle, and even essentials like his phone and wallet weren’t priorities while he was still on campus. if he was going out to buy something he’d have the near exact amount of lien to do it. it was problematic, but he didn’t even carry any id around. to be honest he kind of hates his scroll. he doesn’t like the feeling of being tracked and watched, which explains his aversions to other kinds of social media. post fall of beacon he is heavily reliant on it. his scroll is the only thing he keeps in his pocket, it has a case where he can keep extra lien if he needs it. the only other thing i can think he keeps in there sometimes is snacks; like eighty percent chocolate, seaweed candy, matcha gummies, chia seed granola bars, etc. he gets hungry a lot.

DOES YOUR CHARACTER FEEL MORE COMFORTABLE WITH MORE CLOTHING, OR LESS CLOTHING?

less, in the sense that extra items on his person during combat becomes a hassle. ren is always thinking like that; combat first, the rest of his life second. comfort during combat is prioritised over his comfort out of it, so more clothing in situations that could become dangerous is not preferred. post volume three he keeps everything in his pack, save his scroll. as for his usual clothing style i don’t think he really cares? i can’t base a lot of assumptions on the climate because characters are aesthetically designed instead of practically, but i like to think that kuroyuri and that part of mistral is significantly warmer than vale, which is why ren covers up almost everything in volume 1—3, and then shows more skin in volume 4. it was my personal assumption that ren cannot stand the cold very well, and he was fighting significantly less at beacon, so having a jacket on top of his armoured undershirt wasn’t as taxing as it would have been when they were travelling and in combat all the time. if he always focused on aesthetics, he’d probably wear just enough to cover his scars.

IN WHAT SITUATION WAS YOUR CHARACTER THE MOST AFRAID THEY’VE EVER BEEN?

i’m going to be obvious and say the attack on kuroyuri, not only because it was one of the events that triggered lifelong trauma, but because of the activation of his semblance. as of now, i headcanon his semblance to be emotional manipulation, working not only on other people, but himself. the most common use of his semblance, both theoretically, and shown in the show is the ability to negate negative emotions therefor hiding him from grimm and rendering him and anyone under his protection invisible. i headcanon that this ability isn’t passive and consistently active, and has overtime bled into ren’s reactions and personality. it means that when ren enters periods of extreme sadness, despair, anger, his semblance might trigger on it’s own and start to calm him down. he’s definitely come close, but because of his semblance the night of the attack on kuroyuri was ultimately the last time he’s ever felt that scared.
