Creepy is not a synonym for Kind.
So as a librarian I talk to a bunch of random people who walk in everyday, usually it's no more than to help them find something and wish them a good day. On occasion some one will share an interest and we'll talk about that for a few minutes nothing fancy. Well last Sunday an older man, i'm guessing in his 50-60's came up to me and handed me a few CD's that had been mis-shelved, I took them thanked him and put them away. A few minutes later he started talking to me about music. I though that was pretty cool, so I recommended some of my favorite CD's ( I still super regret this) and he said he could get concert tickets for a show for me since he was friends with the radio station and they gave him free tickets all the time. Now anyone with a sense of self preservation will know to be cautious in situations like this, So I said cool and moved on. I talked to the guy for a little while longer before he mentioned something and a little red flag went up. He went from friendly older guy offering free concert tickets to creepy guy trying to find a "date"(and I use that term loosely) because he's vague on purpose. Then I realized how creep the questions he was asking were
"Hey so do you have a boy friend too then?" referring to a friend who he had been talking to before and finally started to back off after being repeatedly told she had a boyfriend.
"So how old are you then?"
He left with my favorite CD's which really got to m because that music is precious to me and having a creep like him take it, even if just for a few days, pissed me off and made me super uncomfortable.
He's been at my work every day since, asking for me by name when he can't find me out on the floor. A co-worker noticed how creepy he was from a 30-second conversation I had with him the next day. I've taken to avoiding the main floor when I think he's there. Yesterday was the last straw, he followed another one of my co-workers and a good friend( the one he used to talk to before) and asked her to give me his card so I could call him "about the concerts" he said.
Now I have his first name and last name so I'd like to ask if anyone can get me the email contact to the radio station that's giving him these tickets it's Q87.7/101.1WKQX. I'd like to ask then to do something about this guy, whether it be to stop providing him tickets or whatever because they are my favorite station and if he is all buddy-buddy with the station like he said he was I want the station to know what he's trying to use the tickets for.(it's not their fault he's creepy) Hopefully this will get him to leave me, and whoever else he may be doing this to, alone.
