Just worked on this for 2 evenings... Kill me.
I’m just experimenting with different colouring and shading techniques. And facial expressions. WoL is pissed. I don’t know who spit in her antelope stew but they done fucked up.

Xaela lore given
NOM NOM NOM NOM
Xaela have no written language apparently. Well, at least the Qerel though I believe if they don’t then probably none of the other tribes do as well, let alone the Qestir since to them writing things down is a form of speech which they are against.
A male xaela healer is known as a Boo, apparently.
I suppose they fix your Booboos!

About the Muse: Keloch
NAME OF YOUR MUSE: Keloch Buduga
ONE PICTURE YOU LIKE BEST OF YOUR MUSE’S FC: No real one could be given, but I’m always up for suggestions.
TWO HEADCANONS YOU HAVE FOR YOUR MUSE:
Those horns. Have they always been there? No - not all of them. Keloch was born with only one pair, but this second- more aggressively raised set reaching skyward grew in about two cycles ago. They offer him enhanced hearing and perception of the world around him. Rumor has it he can even tell when someone is lying by the pace of their heartbeat; this aids in hunting and defense - bringing the occasional conflict of when something is a little too loud.
While there is the idea of “aether-sight” for some rare individuals, Keloch’s training on the Steppe has provided him a different route in ability. Keloch can primarily sniff out anything (or anyone) that is aether-based. He knows, perceives, and can track someone by their own signature in the ‘scent’ of the aether. This is obviously limited by distance and time, but it has been more often proven to be very useful.
THREE THINGS THAT YOUR MUSE LIKES DOING IN THEIR FREE TIME:
Cooking; he enjoys preparing meals for himself and on rare occasions, others. Getting the ingredients just right with timing all of the main dishes pays off in the end when the food is absolutely delicious.
Training; Keloch exercises and hunts creatures to keep himself in top form and to pass the time. The more he pushes himself, the more he feels ready to take on challenging aspects.
Traveling; experiencing new things, new lands -- it’s stimulating and brings Keloch’s hunting drive to full circle. He wants to understand how every piece of the world works, friend or foe, and every outlook offered. It’s both calming and stressful all the while.
SEVEN PEOPLE THAT YOUR MUSE LOVES/LIKES: (spoiler alert: it’s LESS than seven)
@jserin-tia -- J’serin Tia: An idiot. A fool. A drug addict. Keloch first was introduced to the Seeker through the folly of needing work in Ul’dah. The Tia introduced him to the alleyways and all it’s horrible counteractive aspects; but this was only before some unfortunate/fortunate interactions between one another. J’serin hired Keloch as his bodyguard and they have grown over time in relationship and bond, a complicated venture that can’t be told in some simple spin of words or first glances. Some might assume intimacy. One thing for sure is, J’serin can call for Keloch, and the Xaela will be there at any cost or time.
@rhiodyrdotharl -- Rhiodyr Dotharl: Childhood friend and sparring partner. Keloch and Rhiodyr share something of the traditional ways and memories of the Steppe. They understand each other on a level that most can’t achieve. As a child, Keloch was always smaller than Rhiodyr but has since grown twice his size and has taken on something of a protector -- along with an obvious better understanding to civilized ways from Othard’s lands. They sometimes butt heads, but serve only to strengthen their ties.
@ithelkhatayin -- Ithel Khatayin: A Raen samurai that was adopted by the Xaela tribes in the mountains. Sparring partner, friend. Originally they met in the Quicksand and grew in relationship after some time - guiding their conversations through sessions of sparring and tea. Keloch eventually learned to LIKE the stuff after a few moons and only seeks such from the man particularly. They share a common bond together, a fondness that is simple and innocent to which Keloch cherishes quite easily. Simple is best. Currently Ithel is teaching the Xaela how to read Eorzean with SOME difficulty.
@thegodnameddream -- Raphael Delarue: Initially, Keloch was hired by Raphael to be his bodyguard. They burned through some mercenary work together and bonded throughout. Charming douchebag. Raphael has a strange habit of understanding that is shared with Keloch in primal terms; hidden knowings and all that. Something in between and something rare. The Xaela was not keen upon the boy until some time passed, earning a turn of understanding between one another that is unspoken and oddly same. Their relationship is questionable but -- he follows the younger man with near unabashed loyalty after falling away from the stage of guard, to something of friend as of late.
@mazinkhin -- Mazin Khin : Brother in arms for sure. Originally he was made to hunt down this Elezen in a contract, but circumstances have drawn them together more often than not in companionship. It was enough to see them through any conflict, as they share the same contempt for certain horrendous people. Keloch has found the man to be a fond companion and reliable connection. They share the same kind of joy for food and Keloch has been learning some sass and wit from the minty-haired magic user as of late.
@seiunuyagir -- Seiun Uyagir: They met during a spar between Raphael and Mazin; strange passerby's that now have a subtle connection and pieces of aether drawn between. Keloch sees himself as a protector of his fellow Xaela, as he does with most of his friends and companions; while he is fully aware of the woman’s abilities - he is drawn to her easy going nature and adaptable manner. The Buduga knows she can survive, she just needs a push. He enjoys Seiun’s company and fire between her tongue; no pun intended.
TWO THINGS YOUR MUSE REGRETS:
Regrets are deep. Complicated and conflicted. He regrets not being strong enough to avoid being pulled into the ranks of the Buduga at times -- and then not. They speak of how they only bring in the strongest of the Steppe; but he’s not strong, is he? He’s just wild.
Watching helplessly as his sisters and brothers were murdered by his own siblings, then his parents destroying one another in the madness that was the Will of the Karash. Select Qerel tribesmen/women suffer from a curse that causes them madness -- to not see friend or foe, bleeding the lines; Keloch watched as a child while his family ripped themselves apart in endless rage - all consuming.
A PHOBIA YOUR MUSE HAS:
To lose the will to fight.
