Background's too busy and I don't even care because it's 3 am. lol I don't care about anything! \o/ (By cockpit I mean "bridge" forgive me I am so tired)
The Bákģâíŋqá Fighter (Fast-light Fighter) is the fastest of Qîélán vessels at impulse speeds. It is a defensive craft, used primarily to patrol Qîélán space and keep it secure; they are usually found in groups of 3 or 4. Their crew compliment is minimal, never more than 30 individuals.
Because of the Bákģâíŋqá's ability to fly and maneuver like an atmospheric fighter jet the crew are tethered to their stations, or to railing along the walls, when red alert is sounded to prevent being tossed around during a fire-fight. With this system corridors have two designated sides for the easy flow of crewman going one direction or the other. This does leave crew vulnerable at times when they must untether to move around an open area, but these experiences are few and far between in the small vessel.
The flight controllers of the Bákģâíŋqá undergo special training, since they must control every aspect of the fighter's movements- speed, balance, how much power to give to each particular engine at a certain time, when the stabilizing thrusters are necessary- in both normal and combat scenarios. It takes years of practice and study to perfect the art of flying a Bákģâíŋqá. They are able to get this precision using a special visor which puts them in a 3D spacial environment, as though they are the ship itself, and generally use their entire body as the steering mechanism. This requires more tethering than most other stations during a battle, so that a jostled pilot won't accidentally maneuver the fighter incorrectly. Tactical officers in charge of weapons also have a modified visor to help with targeting. The front viewing window is purely for the rest of the bridge crew.
Uh, that's all I can think of, I would really like some questions to help me round this out. It could also be I'm really super tired and can't think so we'll see how this looks in the morning.
