My first 'official' QiHong post here has to be about the amazing comic series by 赵璞玲 (Zhao Pu Ling)! I came across her drawings when I first found interest in the drama and this ship, and BANG! I found gold. She is a professional comic artist, and she has drawn 52 chapters under her QiHong comic series called 《三月初三》, which translates to 《3rd Day of 3rd Month》 (as the lunar calendar is different from the calendar, it can be translated to 《3rd Day of March》)
The Fo ye/Zhang Qi Shan in her comic series is portrayed as a less serious and intimidating, but more comical and naive man who pines after Er Ye/Er Yue Hong. The first chapter (which I would not post here because it is a very long picture and will end up compressed) shows how they meet for the first time, with ZQS thinking he would succeed with a lame pick-up line: He wanted to ask EYH if he dropped a stack of cash, and if EYH said no, ZQS would ask him to join him in a night of fun out in town. I won't translate further, but this just shows how funny and naive ZQS is portrayed in this comic artist's world! :) Also, Lieutanent Zhang becomes the one restraining his smitten boss, giving him advice on how to chase after EYH :B
The EYH depicted in this comic is the same gorgeous, talented and desirable opera singer, who is always scolding and beating ZQS up for his silly antics. It is really adorable and funny to read the way ZQS is completely whipped by EYH, who wants to punch ZQS for his blatant affections.
Her Chen Pi Ah Si is drawn as a small and veryyyyyy cute boy, with a cute accent because like his original character, he is not from Changsha. He would get bullied by ZQS because ZQS is jealous of EYH being nice to Chen Pi. He's really cute because he goes "SHI HU~~~~ (instead of SHI FU)" and gets all cute with EYH.
Apart from the actual comic series, she would draw individual pictures like those I posted here. That includes extremely beautiful and rated pictures as well ;) I chose not to post those here because I am afraid I will nosebleed whenever I read this post in future hahahah!
And if that is not enough sweets for us already, Her Highness Zhao Pu Ling recently had her work made into an audio drama! The 28 minute audio drama covers only the front parts of her comic, and I have listened to it 10 over times because it is so funny~! I love love love EYH's voice actor, it is less deep as compared to ZYX's voice actor in the drama. The way he scolds ZQS is so funny and exactly the way I pictured a huffing and slightly arrogant EYH! However, ZQS's voice actor was not well-received because many would have expected a deep, warm voice for a manly general like him. That said, I am not complaining as long as they continue to release more parts of the audio drama! You can find the audio drama uploaded: here
I will stop this post here, because I have too much feels for this comic series, bless her for this wonderful contribution to this fandom!
