Future Leaders Mentoring
Leon Carlile, Managing Director of Qld Hot Property and Amy Thompson, Manager of Monkey Business Catering are a part of this year Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce Future Leaders Mentoring Program. It is a fantastic initiative which brings recognised business leaders together with young business people to share their wealth of knowledge with the up and coming business leaders like Amy.
Leon says that working with Amy has been a fantastic experience and he really enjoys sharing the experiences he has had as a Builder, Real Estate Agent and Auctioneer over the past 30 years. Leon and Amy have been working together to break her catering company into the business catering market and having a greater presence in the local business community, it’s not what you know in Toowoomba it’s who you know!
The program is supported by a large number of local businesses both big and small and mayor Paul Antonio is also a big supporter of the program.
Leon would encourage any young business people to get involved with the Future Leaders program or to go out and find a business Mentor themselves who can share their experiences and wealth of knowledge to help them get a leg up in the world of business much like he has done with Amy.

Smoke Alarm Compliance Crack Down
We all remember the tragedy of 23 August 2011, where 11 people died as a result of non-working smoke alarms. As of Jaunary this year new laws were implemented to avoid such incidents happening again. Property owners now have until 1 January 2022 to comply with the new Legislation. Until 2022 you have the obligation to replace faulty, expired or damaged smoke alarms with a photoelectrtic alarms which complies with Australian Standard 3786. For as little as $79 per year Qld Hot Property can arrange for an annual service of all your smoke alarms, free replacement of faulty or damaged Ionisation Alarms, unlimited servicing as required and access to a 24hr support line. Toastmasters Networking
Larry Arnold, attended the recent Toastmasters networking event at the Mercure Gold Coast Convention Centre sponsored by telecommunications company ACN. Larry said he was impressed with ACN as a innovative company that could be found in 25 countries throughout the world and has been in business for approximately the same amount of time, the company deals with technology such as mobile phones, broadband internet, security, power and merchant machines. The speakers on the day were very motivational and very good at networking. I’ve learnt a great number of things that will most definitely help across real estate and made a few new contacts to help me connect to the right buyers and sellers.
