I'm fully on the aroace Riz Gukgak train. I'm also on the queer platonic partners Fabriz train, and here's why.
Kalina offers Riz information about his dad that Riz turns down to know his friends are safe. Riz doesn't say Fabian, but Kalina follows up with, "I can make sure Fabian doesn't die." Kalina knows, immediately, that keeping Fabian safe is the chip to play to encourage Riz's cooperation. And it works.
Riz gives up everything he has, every piece of the puzzle he knows, just to keep Fabian safe. He doesn't know if anybody else is okay, dealing with Ragh in the hotel in this Nightmare King induced rage he's in, but he does know Kalina promised to keep Fabian alive. And he gives it all up.
