riz once ate straight coffee beans because his coffee machine broke and he didn’t have time to get a new one. fabian caught him so he lied and said it’s a goblin delicacy in hopes fabian wouldn’t bully him relentlessly but it worked too well and fabian ate some and is trying to be SO nice about it despite how horrid it tasted

I love when there’s moments between Fabian and Riz that aren’t stated explicitly in canon but there’s enough background that you could reasonably assume something happened.

Fabian and Riz call a lot (he knows how quick Riz picks up)

Fabian has, likely, tasted some of Riz’ blood out of curiosity (makes a quip about wanting to drink Riz’ blood to be infected by Kalina’s curse and then later tastes some blood on the ground and knew it well enough to know that it wasn’t goblins blood off taste alone)

Fabian [knowing who he is as a character] sat by and watched Riz get full body tattoos of clues. Probably sat by and watched him get them. Watched a drugged up Riz try to explain the clues he wanted and where.

Riz bites more around Fabian and likely feels more comfortable, enough to bite and such more. (Fabian says he bit glass because Riz is ‘bitey’ but the only real instance of that is Riz biting off Gorgug’s shirt. I don’t think doing it once is enough for Fabian to call him bitey. And no, I don’t think he would call Riz bitey after the fake thing in the office attacked him, cause he knew it wasn’t Riz)

Fabian talks a lot about Riz (Hangman begins to notice that they ‘have a thing’, and I’d assume he listens or chats with Fabian when Fabian is bored)

Thinking about Riz and Fabian when they're a little older in their twenties and Fabian allows himself to be vulnerable only to Riz. Allows Riz to see him cry and be scared in the safety of their home. Riz soothing Fabian, stroking his hair as he cries and relives nightmares. Riz who is there for his best friend, Fabian who has all these insecurities that he wont' let others know about but he at last is able to be vulnerable to the most important person. Fabian who has night terrors about the Nightmare Forest even now and Riz who wraps his tail around his wrist and soothes him as he tries to break free of the nightmares. Riz whose heart breaks to hear Fabian cry out for people to remember him, who gently tries to wake his friend as he screams as the rats come for him. Fabian who relives the Nightmare Forest when his stress becomes too much and Riz who never tells anyone what he hears and witnesses when Fabian sobs and whimpers in his sleep. Riz who talks to Fabian about what he experiences and Fabian who cries and admits he still has those fears.

Two men who both refuse to get professional help but they find each other and open themselves up only for the other. Best Friends. More than best friends.
