Your donation will help low-income campers come to camp, buy gear for youth to rock on, feed campers, help rent show spaces for final performances, and way way more.

We'd like to give a HUGE shoutout to everyone who has donated and helped spread the word so far! We are completely honored and excited to have your support. We are also thrilled to announce that, because of a few large donations that have come in *outside of this indiegogo campaign*, we are able to move our online fundraising goal down to $14,940. This means that, as of April 22, we are 45% funded! Expanding to Seattle has well over tripled our budget this year- renting school space alone is around 6 times more expensive than in Olympia! Every dollar donated helps, and we appreciate your help spreading the word and helping us raise money in our final 4 days of this campaign! What is Queer Rock Camp?
Queer Rock Camp is a weeklong music camp for queer, gender variant, gender non-conforming and allied youth (ages 12-21) based in Olympia, and Seattle Washington. Youth and volunteers come from all over the Puget Sound area, West Coast, and beyond. Campers learn an instrument, form a band, write an original song, and their hard work culminates in a public showcase. Throughout the week, youth participate in workshops focusing on community building, social justice, self-empowerment, and musical techniques. Queer Rock Camp amplifies the voice of a population that is usually silenced — allowing youth to be loud and to express themselves honestly and authentically through music. As one of the first and only music camps for queer youth — QRC has become a model for a new and exciting form of music programing.

We're Expanding!
Last year we were flooded with camper applications, and we are so excited to host a brand new session of camp in Seattle to serve a greater number of youth! Seattle has a real lack of queer youth focused programming and we are so excited to bring QRC to the city! Seattle is substantially more expensive in terms of renting space, and transportation. We need our community's help to get us set up in the big city. We plan on using this money to seed our initial camp while we establish ourselves in Seattle and move towards utilizing sustainable sources of funding.
