Susie and Ralsei got their own pirouette animations in Chapter 4, for use against Winglade.
Hey now
Gang
Idea that came to me while I was trying to reconcile assumptions I held about UT with DELTARUNE. Basically just the idea that Kris's SOUL isn't Literally the player's avatar (even though it functionally is most of the time). Rather, the player's avatar is a step behind that.
(In writing this I realize that this distinction was Always true in Undertale ["Then it is agreed. You will give me your SOUL"], but my flawed assumption got me thinking about this more, so I'm taking it as a win anyway)
To be clear: the ideas that Kris's SOUL is a "role" you play, and that it doesn't give you total control over Kris (ergo that possession theory is not true) are things I've learned @radicaldreemurrs 's discussions on the subject. I'm building off of those ideas and included details of such to better explain the distinction I'm trying to present (the thing im pitching is incompatible with Kris's SOUL being the player, but not incompatible with possession theory or whatever you call its opposite)
wasn't supposed to go this way
Various character sprites in the 2nd Sanctuary's lighting. To my understanding, the 2nd Sanctuary's effect on color is largely a hue shift. The effect is done at runtime; there aren't separate sprites with different colors. The lighting intensity also undulates slightly.
I added the effect to the sprites using the Second Sanctu-fier by TCV on itch.io.
Thinking about the holiday house scenes again, and it's killing me even more now that Kris chooses to let Susie have everything on the food platter afterwards, because they must be STARVING.
There's a lot that implies that Kris needs sugar and/or more food in order to sustain themselves without the SOUL. They eat a whole damn pie between Chapters 1/2 (and they must've been up to Something Else besides pie eating during that time, else they wouldn't've been so sleep-deprived the morning of Ch2), have the chocolate milk in Ch 3, and pass out soon after finishing off a glass. Between playing piano, and the lunging, throwing, and whacking shit they do to their SOUL in that chapter, they've gotta be EXHAUSTED by the end of it ('s why they trip on themselves, even after reabsorbing their SOUL).
At the end of all that, their dad gives em a whole tray of food and they go bet, lawnmower time
Mulling over human Dess theory, thinking about all the shit with the shoes and whatnot, I think Dess might just be a non-reindeer monster. It feels a lot more plausible to me than the idea that she's human.
There's this whole Thing with her shoes, where all the shoes in her room seem to be made for plantigrade feet. The one exception to this is a pair in her "odds-and-ends" box, said to be fit for hooves. I've seen this pair used as counter for all the other shoe stuff, but the fact that it's only this pair that the narration points out as being "fit for hooves" seems significant. Like it's the exception. Maybe its a pair she took from another Holiday and wanted to hide, or she was trying to force her feet to fit it...?
