For the music thing, can I just ask you to answer them all because I'm curious to know regardless? Or would that be cheating and i still need to pick a number? Because if so, then I guess I'd pick 6 and 9 XD
Oooh, @quadrant90, I like this ask! How about a compromise? In 24 hours, whatever hasn’t been specifically asked, I’ll answer anyway, but I’ll answer the rest as their individual asks.
6: A song that makes you want to dance: Hideaway - Kiesza This one is a regular part of my kitchen dance party rotation.
Bonus song: Wake Me Up by Wham (extra bonus Zoolander video)
9: A song that makes you happy: Can You Picture That - Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem
Thanks again for the great ask, and the excuse to do the rest of the questions tomorrow!
Oh... and 81 😏
You know, you’re kind of a smartass...
So since 81 has no question, I’m going to just ramble for a bit.
This past weekend was the first weekend of the estate sale at my grandparents’ house and it was incredibly difficult for me. You may recall that my Gram was one of my favorite people in all the world and being there at her death was both an honor and a terribly difficult experience for me.
I also helped clean out their house, sorting all their belongings and organizing and choosing what to keep, what to donate, what to sell. I intentionally chose to work in their bedroom, to ensure that their personal items were handled with the care and respect they deserved.
The deeply personal things were packed up for later, some things from their youth were donated to the history museum in the area they grew up in, and each family member came and chose the things that meant something to them (I have my Gram’s hammered dulcimer, which is a story of it’s own). What was left was put out for sale.
But walking along the tables, looking at all the random pieces of their lives... it nearly broke my heart. Logically I know it’s just stuff, but as I ran my fingers over the cut glass candy dish from the living room end table and the enormous Tupperware she always put Grandma Rolls in and even the dining room table I’ve spent countless hours sitting at, I wanted to pack it all up and bring it home with me.
Leaving it there, letting go of those physical things is a step in the grieving process and something I needed to do. But I’ll tell you, it was so hard to walk away from it all.
5, 9, 42, 43 for the askamajig?
5. Post your favorite selfie.
9. What was your favorite article of clothing this year? Post a pic if possible?
Claire got me a P!atD jumper for xmas last week can I say that
42. What are you most proud of accomplishing?
My gigs at college this year all went pretty well
43. What have you learned about yourself this year that you didn’t know in the years prior?
I can make a duck noise with my mouth and hands
So I'm going through old comics on Smackjeeves (cos I found a pic on my harddrive and I can't remember what comic it's from) and your name popped up. I'm just wondering what are your plans regards Alpaca Love, Inhibition, Sasakia Kisses, Captive Soul and Fallen Angel's Love? They cancelled or do you have plans to revisit them? You also should get a website. I don't see your streams much these days but I still see your art pop up and you've really come a long way since I first started following u
OH WOW!!! Those are all very old indeed! XD
I don’t have any plans to continue them. Maybe way way WAY in the future I’ll completely reboot Fallen because I think the concept would still be fun to play with (and I’d get to draw wings a lot!).
I really should get my own site to host all my stuff, but, I am very lazy and haven’t gotten around to figuring that out ^^;
Thanks for following me for so long!!! It means a lot that you’ve stuck around and enjoyed watching my art improve <3
8. 10. 17. 19.... hmm some of these are the same question asked differently XD
Thanks for the great questions, @quadrant90!
8: Do you believe in second chances? Yes and no. Life is made of second chances because people fuck up. We are an inherently flawed species prone to damaging ourselves and the people around us. We make mistakes, we forgive, we move on and if we do it well, our relationships are stronger for it.
But I do think there are some things you can’t come back from and for those things, no, I do not.
10: What is your biggest regret in life? That I didn’t learn to say things like, “no” and “fuck off” when I was far, far younger.
17: What opportunities have you not taken that you regretted not taking? Oh, so many! Sometimes I feel like there are more missed opportunities than ones taken. I’ve always been kind of timid and if I’m not encouraged, I tend to withdraw.
It’s only been in the last few years that I’ve really started to see how much of life has passed me by because I was too scared to take risks.
19: If you could ask one person a single question and they had to answer 100% truthfully, who would you ask and what would you ask them? This is a hard question, not because I don’t know what I want to answer, but because it pokes at a longstanding wound of mine.
If I could ask one single question and get a truthful answer, I would ask my Dad if he was ever even the tiniest bit proud of me. I suspect I know the answer, but knowing is better than that faint hope that eats a person alive.
Thank you so much for these questions, even if they were a little on the melancholy side.
What's your favourite Swiss product?
My favorite edible Swiss product is chocolate. Whether it’s Toblerone or Lindt, I am a fan of chocolate! I try not to eat too much, but a body can only take so much temptation, you know?
My favorite practical Swiss product is my Logitech mouse. I’m currently using an M325 in a pretty ruby red and it’s perfectly suited for my hand. I don’t know if you recall, but I tend to be really hard on things with batteries; I can’t wear a watch because a 10 year battery will be dead in two weeks. If I use my laptop on my lap, it lasts significantly less time than if I put it on a table. I charge my cell phone multiple times a day when I’m carrying it in my pocket.
My point is that finding a mouse I can keep my hand on and not kill super quickly was a challenge. I’ve been through a few varieties and this one has been my absolute favorite. I’ve only replaced the battery a couple times in a year and a half and it doesn’t freak out on me.
Thank you for the great question! I feel like I should have said a Swiss Army Knife, just for the humor of it, but apparently I’m not that funny… LOL
the magician
Thanks for the great ask, @quadrant90!
The Magician: Have you ever written a poem or song about somebody else? I have! I’m not much for writing songs, but I have written hundreds of poems, some of them about a specific person or people.
I am, in fact, working on one right now. I was typing when I heard the notification for this ask. So excellent timing!
