Today was hard but #rubeushagrid was a beacon of fun, love, hope. My only complaint that I can only work him once a day. . I am working so hard on improving his #qualityofgait and at times I feel I have taken on a challenge I cannot overcome. However, finally getting a video of us today showed me pieces, however brief, of a lovely collected #canter. . I put to use the #trotpoles by making them part of a canter-walk exercise. After a walk transition right before the pole #Hagrid has to immediately pick up his shoulders and withers to step over them. Competition week for #rubeushagrid 💪🏼🖤 . I run the #traininghorses program similar to my own. #Monday was light and focused on #qualityofgait in the trot. #Tuesday was a harder more intense session with lots of canter to trot to canter transistions. #Today was a loose and easy walk through the quiet streets of #pembrokega to stretch his legs and have some active recovery. He also had an intense #bodywork session with the best @dragonbalanceequine . Tomorrow he'll have off to prepare for four hours of travel to the #georgiainternationalhorsepark where Friday we'll have another light schooling in the evening before the show starts Saturday. . Whew, what a weekend! I am exhausted, beyond fatigued but also over the moon with my productive rides! . #sirwilliam and I played with the #onetempis again, getting four rather pretty ones in a row. We also continued our #qualityofgait work with the trot and got some fantastic extension through #thepuffs forearms. . What a great weekend at @highpointfarm working with @feneuco! I took both #sirwilliam and #rubeushagrid and spent three days focusing on being lighter with my aids and letting them figure out their own bodies in this more challenging work. . I loved the polo wrap for #hagrid right behind his armpits as it gave me a little more influence on his effort to pick up those heavy front legs and withers! It's like a banded barbell but... with my horse! 😄 . #thepuff and I worked on #qualityofgait as usual, always trying to help him move more like a fancy #warmblood on his own. The focus was "ears up and nose out" so his heavy head and neck were out of the way of his shoulders. . Big thank you to my assistant @jessebears for helping me work three horses all three days. I love my #dressagetrainer @cindythaxton! #sirwilliam and I worked two days on our collected worked and #qualityofgait to improve his #selfcarriage and how to apply my new strength into an effective seat. . The first two videos are when our dots connected, #puffyhorse rocked back and we bounced off the ground together. It felt amazing and best of all I felt my #gymgains working in the saddle! . This was our first attempts at learning the #onetempis That lovely skipping look you might see on TV is wicked hard for a human body to coordinate let alone the horse underneath you trying to guess just what the #christmas you're talking about! . Just like in the gym, #dressagetraining isn't great all the time! Some days suck more than others and some don't suck at all.
