Being eco-friendly VS fashion for being one. This whole climate changing movement simply makes you chose which side of the fence you gonna be on: Care/Apathy/Denial (which of these three are you?) . And once you consider any changes in your life, your entire social environs will demand the full impact from you and point out every slip-up you make. That's simply how our society works, people love critisizing! And sure,the more of a celebrity you are the more you are doomed in this. Though celebrities are often the key of getting the message across, so why not at least try to speak up. For instance Vivienne Westwood (that's her portrait btw) - british nonconformist designer, who actually did so, as many others. The moment she started to push the ideas, such as quality vs quantity or tackling the need for clean energy and so on , the whole bucket of blaming pulled on her for running the brand as part of the second largest business after agriculture. «If you care - stop your business at all», they say. Pretty stupid thing to do, when she has reached a place like that, isn't it? So,now she is reforming business policy, supporting the charity to preserve rainforests, and she is holding back her business expansion as far as I know, concentrating on quality. And of course it's still plenty of work here , but it seems to be a good start. Anyhow, me myself still reflecting if I should believe this punk lady or not. And still wonder, are her and many many other celebs' ecological beliefs have true intensions or it is just another marketing tool with a bit greener color on. Quality vs. Quantity seems to always be up for debate. Quality is the clear winner right? Maybe not. Certain products and services need a certain level of quality to support their value. Movement and nutrition certainly need some quality standards. Everything needs targets for improving quality. But without quantity, quality can never improve. Can you become the best at something by only doing it once? Nah. You improve quality in all things by the practice and opportunity that quantity provides. Quality is inert. It is what it is. And it is only what someone thinks it is and can only be measured in what someone will trade money for it. Quantity, on the other hand, is measured in facts, figures, and is loaded with objectivity. Quantity is measurable, repeatable, scalable, and is ultimately equally or even more so than quality... valuable. If it is worth doing once it’s worth doing every day. Quality should be inherent to what you do, what you provide, who you are, and what you stand for. You shouldn’t have to focus on it. I want to make music & content that is memorable, not stuff that is relevant to the present alone. I want to make things people can relate to. I want to put out content with substance. It’s impossible for me to I’d much rather put out a small amount of content that I take pride in & be respected by a niche cluster of people, than put out a generous amount of content and be respected by no one. I don’t believe that documentation is needed for success contrary to what some people might say. Many people (“influencers”) have a career built entirely around documenting their lives but eventually have it go horribly awry at some point, killing their career and/or their relevance. Call me old-fashioned, but I think revealing too much information about your process or even about yourself kills the mystery. Quality vs. Quantity Concept:(Artist Management 101)What are some initial steps and/or characteristics one should take/have when it comes to artist management? I have been managing artists in some capacity for quite some time now. I can speak from personal experience that artist management isn’t something that one should enter into thinking that it will be easy. In my opinion one has to be built with a certain personality and embody certain characteristics to deal with all that comes along with artist management. I like to think of myself as an influential relationship builder and for me has been a major key in helping indie artists not only within a management perspective but also while serving as a consultant with the majority of the acts I work with. In terms of what a aspiring artist manager should look for when it comes to an ideal artist is one that is driven, coachable and has a CLEAR vision of what they want to accomplish within their career.
