I saw you talkin about Shadow and Bone...blease.... can you tell me if it’s a show I should check out? What is it? Can I start there? Do I need to read a book first? I crave fantasy shows but...so many are so-so (and not even in a fun way ) so I’d love to try this if it’s good!

Hey!!! So Shadow and Bone is the newest Netflix fantasy series, so far I'm loving it! It's actually based on two different YA fantasy series by the same author, set in the same universe: The Grishaverse. The Grisha Series (republished as the Shadow and Bone series, but it doesn't make much of a difference as that's the name of the first book) and the Six of Crows duology. I haven't read all of either series, but I read the first of both lol. If I'm being honest I found Shadow and Bone (the book) to be lackluster, pretty standard ya fare set in a nonetheless interesting world! On the other hand I ADORE Six of Crows. You've got characters and events from both books in the show, and it honestly works MUCH better than I expected, but I'm still in early episodes. Anyway instead of the standard medieval western europe fantasy setting, Shadow and Bone takes place largely in a fantasy version of late Imperial Russia, but with magic of course. There is the chosen one who doesn't know she's the chosen one at first trope and also a love triangle. On the other hand the Six of Crows part focuses on a savvy street gang, made up of wonderful characters, on a sort of heist mission. Anyways I definitely recommend the show!! I would love to have more friends to talk about it with 😅. It's absolutely beautifully cast in my opinion, so far good writing, at least partially done by the author, Leigh Bardugo, who also produces, and frankly what must be quite a good budget that they've spent wisely on special effects and costuming aside from writing and casting of course.

Abelia: First off is my wedding ring. I picked it out myself at a pawn shop AFTER getting married and it's a garnet surrounded by tiny diamonds. Even if I were to get divorced I would still wear this ring because I cherish it for myself. There's also a necklace: it's just a gold chain with a little gold Colombia on it and I wear it (almost) all the time.

Chamomile: Money!!!!! Honestly, gift giving and receiving isn't exactly my favorite activity. That's like 5 rants in and of itself. But without a doubt, giving me money will be astoundingly appreciated. To me, it's not impersonal. Money as a gift is the one thing that will 100% guarantee a positive gift experience for me.

Aloe vera: Oh god. Having like. A normal home. A kitchen with enough counter space to actually exist. Having enough space just for a goddamn kitchen table to eat at. Having enough space in the bedroom for a full size (or if I'm REALLY shooting for the stars, a queen size) bed AND side tables. I really really really really really hate my miserable fucking apartment, but I digress.

What I love most about myself. This is an exceedingly difficult question to answer, so I'm sorta gonna cop-out and not! Pretty confident until very recently the answer was a super uncomplicated "nothing". But someone has maybe changed my opinion on that now... So it's not straightforward because these are all things I very very much have hang-ups about, but the fact that someone else likes these things about me and I like that they like them means, by proxy... Kind of? So these aren't things that I love about myself, but things that I explicitly hated about me for my whole life, that now I have sort of been forced to appreciate: My voice, my laugh, my natural hair, my eyes.

What my last text message says. "Go toooo sleep! I love you so much! Also consider me having just quietly stolen a super massive cuddle becccause like we've just said absolutely worse things so why avoid this? Also I just really appreciate your hugs so like #deal. Sweet dreams babe. 💖💖💖"

My childhood career choice. When I was a toddler I said I was gonna grow up to become a garbage truck driver. Everyone was like "That's not a very good dream, you can aim higher" - anyway, I aimed too high with that one. Thank you, Anna!! 😊

vanilla chai— do you have any hobbies that your followers don’t know about? or any hobbies that you once had, but stopped doing?

1) I like horror. But I don't really know why? I think most people who like horror say that they like the adreneline rush? But I don't like that, and even if I did I don't get that experience from horror movies, so... I'm not sure! I think maybe when I was young I forced myself to like horror movies/TV/games/books beacuse I was a very edgy kid and so now I just still do?

2) I'm pretty heart-on-my-sleeve when it comes to my interests, and I'm very hear-on-my-sleeve about everything when I'm on tumblr, so I'd wager I've talked about basically every hobby I've had on here at some point. I lose interest in basically every hobby I get, and then some I will pick back up again. At the moment I'm getting nothing out of any of my hobbies. So we'll see.

40: Hugs or kisses? Hugs! Kissing is also very great, and I would never take it away from anyone, but I just reckon like you could hug for literally the whole day, no problo Rob Lowe, but I feel like there has to be a cap on maximum possible kissing.

52: Favorite movie? Doomsday (2008). No doubt. Before I saw it I never knew what my favourite movie was. But ever since it's been Doomsday. Would not die surprised if it always was.

139: What nicknames do you have/have had? Well I mean... Gimly, I guess. Also variations ie. Gizmo, Gimlet, Gimmles, etc. Before that, it was Sexxyleggs (said like Sexy Legs). I do not know why.

161: How many drafts do you have on your blog(s)? The day before yesterday I had over 350, but now I only have 27. The rest I either deleted, posted, or queued since then.
