Does anyone know how you get into the quantitative-X field?
So, as everyone does, I’ve been looking for my passion in life. Something that is not a hobby, but rather a field I like learning more about and enjoy spending 40 hours a week grinding at.
I have a background in comp sci & applied math. I am currently doing my master’s in math with a concentration in fin. & act. math. Looking for internships, I cam across the quant field (i.e. quant dev, quant researcher, quant trader, etc). All job postings seem to be the perfect fit (job description & qualifications), but I keep getting rejected and idk if it’s cause I just have the bare minimum or I don’t have past experience in the field (which like wtf these are internship posts I’m applying for...) or maybe the market is just super saturated? sigh
Anyways, anyone have any suggestions or personal experiences?!
