Arqit Quantum News: SKA-CC Powers Quantum-Safe Networks
Arqit Launches SKA Central Controller for Quantum-Safe Network Security for Managed Service Providers
Global quantum-safe encryption leader Arqit Quantum Inc. announced the SKA Central Controller (SKA-CC), a cutting-edge software platform that streamlines quantum-safe network service installation, today.
In November 2025, SKA-CC launched a network security solution to protect against post-quantum attacks. The technology, built for Telco and Defence Managed Service Providers (MSPs), lets them deliver cutting-edge security capabilities without having to pay for and operate complex key management infrastructure.
Essential Innovation: Dynamic Symmetric Key Generation
The SKA-CC's main innovation is its crypto-agile, low-footprint security mechanism that generates dynamic symmetric keys. The keys are used for endpoint authentication and VPN tunnel encryption.
By implementing this approach, the SKA-CC eliminates dependence on traditional security foundations like long-lived pre-shared keys or complex PKI-based systems. Quantum-safe encryption protects data in wireline, mobile, cloud, and AI-enabled virtual private networks. Scalable, resilient, and lightweight describe this defence.
Allowing High-Growth Security Services
SKA-CC allows telcos and communication infrastructure providers to differentiate their services and generate additional income by applying advanced security features across a wide range of current and future services. Several interconnected businesses use the platform to meet post-quantum security demands.
The SKA-CC offers several multi-layer network connectivity use cases:
Safe NaaS: The platform provides multi-layer, quantum-safe VPN and multi-tenant key usage policy controls. Protecting use cases in highly automated management and orchestration (MANO) environments with Virtual Private Cloud connections, virtual network operations, and Universal CPE is ideal.
Remote and Edge Connectivity: The controller offers post-quantum secure VPN for mobile and remote users. Private 5G infrastructure communication between radio base stations and the core network is also protected.
Critical Infrastructure Security: SKA-CC protects IoT and OT security communications between cloud services, edge gateways, and IoT hubs. These applications are crucial for energy, oil and gas, and critical infrastructure.
Implementations of OSI Layers System includes quantum-safe symmetric keys at different OSI levels:
Optical (OSI Layer 1): Links OEM OTNsec transit devices to keys.
High-throughput, quantum-safe MACsec point-to-point connections are achievable with Carrier Ethernet (OSI Layer 2).
OSI Layer 3: Internet Protocol Combining symmetric keys makes IPsec VPNs quantum-safe.
TLS-based APIs are quantum-safe with OSI Layer 4-7.

Executive View and Arqit Mission
“Quantum computing will change the threat landscape,” said Arqit Chief Product Officer Scott Alexander on the launch's strategic importance. SKA-CC lets partners safeguard their networks and stay ahead of attacks quickly, he said. The introduction helps Arqit simplify and scale robust encryption for reliable, global, quantum-safe telecom communication.
Greater Arqit Platform Context
Arqit Quantum Inc. (ARQQ) offers encryption software to protect networked devices and cloud computers from current and future assaults, including quantum computer attacks.
The company's principal product, the Symmetric Key Agreement Platform, uses a simple software agent to let endpoint devices generate encryption keys locally together. Zero Trust Network Access relies on these computationally safe keys. Custom group sizes and refresh rates allow the platform to produce unlimited keys.
Users won't have to deal with irritating rip-and-replace needs using Arqit's standard technology. It is compliant with NSA CSfC Components and RFC 8784 Symmetric Key Management Requirements Annexe 1.2.
IDC named Arqit a Post-Quantum Cryptography Innovator in September 2024. The company is ISO 27001-accredited and has won two GSMA Global Mobile Awards in 2024 and the National Cyber Awards' Cyber Defence Product of the Year 2024. Arqit launched QuantumCloud 3.0 Platform independently.
