Reposted from @squat_university Here’s a fun assistant exercise @olychad recommend to me for overhead stability & grooving the exact position we want to be in with the jerk lock out. While I’m only showing 2 reps here, Chad recommend this as a 5 rep + the last with a 10 second hold set to me with up to a heavy weight (with an end goal weight after some time with it of around 110% of your goal jerk weight). . After trying a few sets of these, go directly to your jerk out of the rack and you’ll find it to groove perfectly to a stable & locked out position with ease. . The thing I love so much about these is it really allows you to hone in and focus on your “stacked” position from your hands through your shoulders & into your trunk. If any part of the “chain” has a kink in it, you’ll know quickly especially on the 10 second hold. The better you become in this stacked position, the easier it becomes to hold the weight overhead. #squat #strong #overheadsquat #quartersquat #olympiclifting #jerks (at Prestwick) https://www.instagram.com/p/COQ2cCcHccz/?igshid=1r97s70w120wn
