Jason Gesser quarterbacked WSU from 1998-2002, leading the Cougars to the 2001 Sun Bowl and 2003 Rose Bowl, earning Pac-10 Co-Offensive Player of the Year as a senior. Following his time at WSU, Gesser played in the NFL with the Tennessee Titans, the CFL with the Calgary Stampeders and the Arena Football League with the Utah Blaze. He spent five years coaching high school football in the state of Washington (2006-10), two years at the University of Idaho (2011-12) and spent the 2013 season as the quarterbacks coach at Wyoming. While coaching high school Jason Gesser also found time to serve as an analyst for Root Sports, working on a variety of broadcasts.
The Chiefs have opted to sit QB Alex Smith and will start rookie QB Patrick Mahomes on Sunday against the Broncos. The game in Denver is meaningless to the Chiefs as they are locked in the No. 4 seed and have clinched their division regardless of what happens Sunday.
