I’ve spent all day foaming at the mouth at all the clips I can find of the Casa Mañana Theatre’s Texan-themed production of Cats. It’s 100% my favorite concept I’ve seen for a non-replica show.

The litter of four girls and three boys, Chartreuse being the oldest and the most likely to take up the role of protector after Munkustrap. And the other girls are Ingénue, Christine, and Dafildaizy who’s a twin with Fuzz-Wuzz Fezziwig (the Tugger duplicate) Beetlebug, and our youngest Quaxo (the Misto duplicate)

these are b&w sketches of my hypothetical headcannons for how i’d adapt cats to film. (it would be much more plot focused because the musical relies on the spectacle of live performances for its entertainment value, which just doesn’t work with heavily vfx’d movies). a lot of my plans are “i wanna do what cats 2019 tried and failed to do”. quaxo would be sort of shy, but when he dons the all black coat of his alter ego, he gains the courage to bring the moon back. (which is a whole scene i have BIG plans for as well so stay tuned for that explanation!)
