Amelia cracked a small smile, shaking her head. She saw herself in Nikki, which is probably a reason why they were good friends. ❝You know I’d say the same, that I don’t deserve that. But you do, Nikki. You’re a wonderful person, and you’ve done so much for me... how couldn’t I?❞ She paused, now smiling up in a reassuring manner to her. ❝Don’t think for one second that you’re not worth it. Anytime --- Anytime that you need me, call me and I’ll be there. No matter what.❞
“No matter who you become, I will always believe in the best part of you.”
Age did Adam good. His last one hundred years would be the most human he’d be. Wise, understanding, faithful, loving, generous. It is a sad truth however, that if this was the man who started in the Garden of Eden, he would have bit the apple a long time before Eve was created as the understanding that freedom of knowledge of Sin is inherently what begins a humans path in life.
His mindset would align a little more with Lilith’s and maybe things would have been much different.
The beauty in Humanity is the freedom of choice, regardless of the path taken, there is always the road open to salvation and for Adam, knowing this, he chooses only to look ahead for his children, to guide them and hope that they do not replicate his own mistakes. He casts away his own path of holiness to bear the weight of sin on his shoulders so his children wouldn’t have to and maybe that is the reason he gets into Heaven.
Adam sees what happened in Eden as his own fault but doesn’t dwell on “what if’s” and excuses. He prays to God for his family, for the food they are given, for their safety and for their souls. His family means more to him than anything else in creation, that’s why he pushes himself so hard to ensure their survival even after he’s gone.
