The best princess in my opinion.
ETYMOLOGY: Ingrid
The name ‘Ingiríðr’ is of Scandinavian origins, one that means “beautiful”. One of the most notable bearers of such a name was HM Queen Ingrid of Denmark, Princess of Sweden. She is the daughter of the future Gustaf VI Adolf and his late wife Margaret of Connaught. She married the Danish Crown Prince Frederik in 1935, and I guess Ingrid loved her name so much, that she named all 3 of her daughters after herself.
HM Queen Margrethe II of Denmark [nicknamed “Daisy” after her grandmother, who took the name Marguerite, the Swedish word for the flower daisy. Her full name is Margrethe Alexandrine Þórhildur Ingrid.]
HM Queen Anne-Marie of Greece [the youngest of the three, Anna-Maria as she is known in Greece, married King Constantine II. Her full name is Anne-Marie Dagmar Ingrid.]
HRH Princess Benedikte of Denmark [the middle child, Benedikte Astrid Ingeborg Ingrid married Richard, 6th Prince of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg.]
Another froot loop joke
We decided on a group name and logo during the same meeting. It was important to us to include key features: the Venus symbol, a cat with a crown, and a pentacle. These elements represent the priorities of our circle: women, pussy, and shared spiritual practice.
I carved this stamp based on the original logo sketch and am very pleased with how it came out. I only got into linocutting after another Queen brought in a carving kit and it turned out to be loads of fun! Having a women’s circle is a great way to share resources, skills, and foster development within the community.
- Queen Daisy
I made an older Daisy in the same universe where Mario becomes king of the Mushroom Kingdom and honestly... I love her? I dunno what Luigi’s going to look like, though. Maybe he won’t even marry Daisy Or Daisy resigns as ruler and settles for a normal life with Luigi.
“The Inflamed Queen”
So, I’ve had this idea for a while. I’ve been thinking about ways to make Daisy more interesting as a character and have it fit in a main Mario game, or some sort of spin-off, like the M&L or Paper series or something.
What I came up with was a Daisy who’s even more impulsive, envious, competitive and hotheaded. A Daisy who wasn’t on good terms with the Mushroom Kingdom or Peach, and instead was envious of how popular and more liked they were compared to her and Sarasaland, who’s citizens would do everything in their power to stay on her good side and keep her in a good mood. She’d be so determined to be better than Peach that she’d even purposefully wear a bigger crown and call herself Queen just to show off her superiority. Her only real friends would be some staff members in her castle, Mario, who saved her once (much to her people’s dismay) and gained her respect, and Luigi, who she would have an admiration for because of how he is able to carry on despite constantly living in his brother’s shadow, similar to her situation with Peach.
So, she’d be more of an antagonistic/rival faction in the world of Mario, who at her worst would probably want to expand her kingdom by turning the Mushroom Kingdom into a desert, in the hopes of finally getting world-recognition, but not realizing the consequences of that plan. Her plans would have varying degrees of success, and she would always vow to be back with something worse every time they failed. But dont worry, she’d still be up for go-kart racing, sports events and parties.
For her outfit, I decided to make her dress shorter and give her sport shorts to fit her tomboy personality. and because she lives in a freaking desert. Shit’s hot, yo. I also made her skin more tan, kind of like how she originally was. again, desert. I also basically gave her her sneakers from one of her sports outfits because that made more sense than heels. Finally, I added arm bands because why not. She’d also be shorter than Peach, but still taller than Luigi.
I tried doing some shading and junk, and I think most of it came out good, though I think I could have done better with the crown and shirt. I also just completely winged the background.
Maybe I could make an ask blog about this concept, if I can get off my fat ass and flesh things out.
