Aight so next technically was an original mini arc that then got replaced with the Shining Moon Shinagawa Tokyo plot BUT SINCE THERE'S NO ACTUAL VIDEO OF IT OUT YET SO I CAN ANALYZE THE PLOT I've decided to simply move on and tackle the next story, which was the Dead Moon Circus! YOU CAN IMMEDIATELY SEE PLENTY OF DIFFERENCES LOL. It's also fitting since we're on the last leg of SuperS with my friend and boyfriends too lmao.
The Dead Moon Circus, operated by Zirconia, is as in other versions both an actual circus and a front for Nehellenia, who seeks revenge on the White Moon and those under it after having been trapped in a mirror for aeons, and who look for "the one with a dream blessed by a Pegasus", under a prophecy that dictates that whoever has said dream will give "the one under the White Moon's light" the key to their defeat. To do this, she instructs their minions to hunt down people with beautiful dreams and check their Dream Mirrors, which are spiritual objects that show people's dreams - either their old ones which have been realized, their new ones, or the ones they've given up on.
We start with the Amazon Trio which is now the Amazon 4, as I've replaced Xenotime and Zeolite with a new character - Ox's Eye! it's the red/brown variant of Tiger's Eye. Also yeah they look significantly different lol, I've made them all have the torso of a human but the head, forearms and legs of the animal they are - as much like the other versions, they're all animals given human form by Zirconia. Their job is to find the one with "the dream blessed by a pegasus", who will have a Dream Mirror with a golden hue compared to normal people, whose Dream Mirrors are simply iridescent, projecting their dreams as a hologram or illusion.
Individually I take the best parts of each incarnation of them which is also really really hard because on god the Trio never get fuckall good lmao. Tiger's Eye is a South China tiger, musically inclined and self-centered, only targeting musicians and similar. Hawk's Eye is a western marsh harrier, who favors those with experience and drive, focusing on those pursuing dreams in academic or business fields. Fish Eye is a white comet goldfish, ever vain and pretty, and only cares for those with exceptional beauty. Ox's Eye, the newcomer, is a water buffalo, and essentially more of a himbo who acts as the muscle of the group, focusing on people pursuing self-betterment. In the Circus proper, Tiger's Eye is the animal whisperer, Hawk's Eye is the fire breather, Fish Eye is the juggler and balancer, and Ox's Eye is the Strongman. The audience simply thinks their forms are a costume.
Zirconia and Zircon! pretty close to their canon versions as well - Zircon scouts out potential "pegasus dream" havers, Zirconia commands the Amazon 4 and the Lemures and also is the one managing the Circus as the MC and host. Zirconia is also a manifestation/"cocoon" of Nehellenia, and once the latter is fully recovered ends up emerging from her.
Finally, Queen Nehellenia, aka Sailor Morpheus! "Drops wasn't she Sailor Sirius" yeah and I changed that! Because I wanted to! Morpheus is an Apollo Asteroid, part of the NEOs, and she claimed the Moon as her kingdom alongside her own team, the Sailor Quartet, a millenia before Sailor Lactis would arrive and end up taking it from her. Despite having a Blessed Sailor Crystal and being in her Eternal form, Nehellenia simply decided that the best course of action was to initially offer her kingdom as temporary lodging for Lactis, as she had singlehandedly saved them all from the threat of Kaguya and Nehellenia had lost her Senshi to her. Over time, however, Lactis simply made the kingdom hers, using her power and the followers she had gained to destitute Nehellenia, and once Nehellenia finally stood up for herself alongside those still loyal to her, Lactis sealed her in a mirror and turned her followers into Lemures. Aeons later, Nehellenia has managed to break herself free and seeks revenge in any way possible, settling on Tsubasa's team as she can sense her connection to Lactis and the fact her reincarnated Senshi now follow her. She turned the mirror she was trapped in into her weapon, as well. As the asteroid Morpheus didn't have a symbol, I made one - taking the general appearance of the symbol for the asteroid Endymion and turning it from a half-lidded eye to a closed one, as well as adding a star on top.
Queen Serenity and Queen Nehellenia were in a romantic relationship in the past. This was an unhealthy relationship, so Serenity eventually decided to leave. When Nehellenia visited the holiday on the moon, she tried to convince Serenity to renew the relationship, arguing that they were good together and they attract to each other. But Serenity rejected her again.
