Soooo, this has been sitting in my WIP folder for ages. Here's a little sketch of Encanzo and Queen Sychorax from Cressida Cowell's the wizards of once series. Did this on one of my hour-long train rides to uni, back when I was listening to the audiobooks. I hadn't seen any of the illustrations at that point and was going completely off of the books' description (which really doesn't give you all that much to work with), so forgive me if it's a little off haha.

i know I said the next thing I would draw would be digital but I’m still getting used to it so I needed a little longer lol

per usual with my art, I screwed up some of the lineart so it’s not my best work and it’s kind of a mess but it sure does exists

anyway, I have decided to pair this drawing with a few headcanons

-leading with something kind of sad, the spell of loved denied stunted her emotional growth and if she wasn’t good at articulating her feelings before she took it, this just completely ruined any chance of her being good at it. I like to think after she undid the spell she was a better mother to Wish but idk

-her favorite color is pink but only Encanzo knows this and she would literally maim him if he dared ever tell a soul

-still has no idea how to feel about her deceased husband (Wish’s biological dad)

-remarried in the same dress tho partly because it was her mother’s and partly because she just thinks she looks super good in it (and she does) (now I low key want to draw her in a wedding dress)

thats all for now! I hope you guys like the art/headcanons and I will see you guys next time I decide to emerge from my pillow fort to make something (or I might just come back at four am with a concept I will never actually end up finishing)

Hothead boy who makes concerning life choices and has a giant ego plus a magical creature squad that would make Disney Princesses jealous His mean brother Snotlo- LOOTER I MEAN LOOTER A rebellious but simultaneously not that rebellious, sympathetic princess with a really neat secret and not the best bodyguard in the world Aaaaaaaand yet another beautiful, terrifying and intimidating warrior mother figure(Valhallarama is still the best though) (Not featured: Fishle... I MEAN BODKIN and a terrifying magic king dad who is trying his best at this very hard business which is parenting business) I loved this book a lot! I adore Xar and Wish and I adore their totally not dangerous secrets
