The Queen made a TV speech about Covid. She was dressed like this.

Okay, the colour echoes medical scrubs and we're sure that's deliberate, however HM has more sense of humour than she's given credit for.

Example: when she played one of the most senior Bond Girls, the pause at 1:27-1:36 which made Daniel Craig go all twitchy was (AFAIK) a deliberate ad-lib and his twitch was real.

She was meant to turn around as soon as “Mr Bond, Your Majesty” was announced, but went off-script when she decided it would be more fun to let things simmer for a couple of seconds. Fun? Look at that face...

She’s also thoroughly tech-savvy, so we're willing to bet she was well aware the dress also matches CGI green-screen and what would happen next. After all, it's been done to her green clothes before, and if she didn't want it done again, there are lots of other colours she could have worn. But she didn’t.

The red-top tabloids are gobbling "Disrespect!" about things like Iron Maiden and Queen teeshirts (heehee!) yet of all the things projected on HM's green dress, D and I like this one best.

Make it so.

State Opening, one of the most colourful events of the parliamentary year, takes place at the Palace of Westminster.

The monarch formally opens Parliament and delivers the Queen's Speech – written by the government – which sets out Parliament's agenda for the coming year.
