#QueenCorp ftw!
An OTP that will end all OTP’s bow down bitches!
QueenCorp, Pt 2
Lena in superhero protection when someone reports homelander in National City airspace. Which ends up being just Maeve and Supergirl, bc no other super is willing to face off against Homelander and get obliterated.
Lena sleeping in the bedroom of a safe house, as Maeve and Supergirl keep watch together in the main living room. Conversation naturally shifting to the woman they have in common.
Maeve shares her regrets over the choices she made. In the long run, her career never amounted to anything worth losing Lena. But she confesses her relief that Lena has found happiness-- there's no one on earth who deserves it more than Lena.
Supergirl shares some of who Lena has become since Maeve last knew her, confirming her kindness had been on an upward trajectory, even then. Supergirl's not entirely pleased with Lena declaring war on Vought and Homelander, but accepts that she couldn't really expect Lena to do anything different.
But they also come to a clear understanding about what kind of hero Supergirl is. Not a super like Vought's stable, but not human either.
"How is what you do any different?" Maeve asks. "Besides the fact Vought never got their claws in you."
Supergirl meets her gaze, features grim but without judgement.
"I don't kill."

----
It's impossible to remain vigilant forever. Especially when your ward is Lena Luthor, who answers to the world and yet no one but herself. The safe house lasts only as long as she can stomach it, and when no attempts are made, Lena insists on returning to work.
And of course, Homelander has enough supes still under his thumb that it's only a matter of time before Lena's snatched right out from under their noses by A-Train, who delivers her to Blink, who then apparates Lena across the world to where Homelander waits at an undisclosed location.
Lena isn't afraid. As soon as she gets her bearings and recognizes Homelander she draws herself up and levels her very best boardroom smirk at him.
"That desperate, huh?" she taunts, her eyes calmly following Homelander's slow pacing before her. "You know, it's kind of funny. All this time you've painted yourself as a god among men, the divine chosen... and you don't even have the sense to realize it's the most common shtick out there. I've spent my entire life around entitled pricks who walk around like their god's fucking gift, and you know what? Some of them pull it off better than you..."
QueenCorp, part 3
Maeve flawlessly delivers shot after shot for a new photo spread in a public park, when out of the corner of her eye she sees a dark town car pull up at a restaurant nearby. It's utterly unremarkable save for the fact that she's bored out of her mind, but her heart skips a beat when Lena steps out, all leg and collarbone in a sharp but conservative business dress, hair swept up into a french twist.
"Can you, uh-- can I get a minute real quick?" she asks the DP, speeding off before she gets a response. She stops too close to Lena, who jumps when she suddenly appears out of nowhere. "Lena. Hi."
"Hi."
Gaze indiscernable behind her sunglasses, Lena regards Maeve without reaction. It's careful though-- proof that the reaction is there, but tucked out of sight.
"I didn't realize you were back in town," Maeve says, breathless. "If I'd known we'd be in the same place, I--"
"I would have found a different restaurant," Lena cuts in.
The words cut Maeve deep enough to knock the breath from her lungs, and Lena realizes the bite of her voice the moment she says them.
She softens.
"You know how I feel about cameras."
Maeve nods. "Yes, but there's--"
There's a flicker of motion through the tint of Lena's shades, and Maeve follows the shift of her gaze to find the cameras had followed her across the grass, hoping to catch something juicy.
"Dammit," Maeve curses, turning to Lena with apology in her heart. "Lena, I--"
"No," Lena says in a low voice that curls deep into Maeve's senses and grips her tight.
"Later, then. I'll come alone--"
"I don't think that's a good idea." Lena shuts her car door with a thud. "Excuse me-- I'm late for a meeting."
She brushes past Maeve in a bloom of authority and designer perfume-- a stark contrast from the week-old sweatpants and pizza rolls that flashes bright and vivid in Maeve's memory. She's changed. More than that Lena has flourished. Where Maeve has witnessed her own slow dwindle to a shell of who she used to be, Lena has grown to fill every inch her skin.
Gone is the reticence Lena used to have, that made her shrink away from the spotlight of authority.
Gone is the uncertainty that she deserved what she had.
Gone is the impotence that had once plagued Lena's desire to change the world.
In their place is confidence, power, and certitude, draped around Lena like a cloak.
She is the force of nature Maeve always wanted to be.
Lena is the warrior Maeve never became.
She watches Lena disappear into the restaurant before turning back to the crew with sour features.
"Ever hear of a thing called privacy?"
QueenCorp, Pt 4b: Homelander’s Revenge
Homelander returns to find Lena unconscious in her chair and Lamplighter and Resurrectionist playing cards with an open bottle of tequila between them.
He sighs. "She done already?"
Lamplighter shrugs. "We'll see..."
"Taking a break," Rez supplies, slapping down a jack of spades. "If she doesn’t come round by the time we start again, yeah, she's probably done."
Homelander isn’t keen on that idea. “There's no point on continuing if she can't enjoy it." He grins. "I have something else in mind."
Lamplighter perks up. "Yeah?"
With a gloved hand, Homelander lifts a vial, filled with a tell-tale blue serum. "If Miss Luthor abhors us supes so much... I think we should give her a taste of what it's like to be one."
He tosses it to Lamplighter, who catches it deftly.
"It'll probably kill her,” Homelander warns, but isn’t at all concerned. “If it does, bring her back."
"You got it, boss."
