Hikari flinched from the light sting of having her wound touched. It wasn't terribly painful, but it did cause slight discomfort. She had to wonder what might have driven this woman to act aggressively. There was something about the way the woman licked her lips that sent a shiver down Hikari's spine.
It reminded her of the way demons and yōkai looked at her. The scent of death that hung around the woman didn't help.
It's a coincidence. A crazy coincidence.
"U-Um..."
Her words died on her tongue, a gasp escaping past her pink, parted lips as she was grabbed by the chin. Her body tensed as if bracing itself for an attack. Her gold and-silver-blue irises, softly glowing and reflecting starlight, stared into the towering woman's.
"I—"
Here face instantly reddened.
"I-I beg your pardon?"
