This is a fandomless, multiverse OC roleplay blog with original lore (flexible). 21+ only, minors DNI.

The default, main setting is a historical fantasy heavily inspired by Heian and Edo Japan, Japanese mythology, Greek mythology, ft. some Catholic influences. This OC and world are ever-evolving, and certain events or interactions may have a positive or negative impact and a lasting effect. As such, Hikari's information is subject to change as she develops and interacts with others.

"I'm not a girl's girl if I'm not looking out for my girls, that's for sure!" Neff lets out a hearty little chuckle, resting her fists on her hips. "You've done well surviving on your own thus far, but now it's time to learn even more about what the world has to offer. You ever have questions or concerns, you come to me, alright?"

A beat.

"Hm....do you have a phone at all? Or should I make some way for you to be able to contact me easier? That's kinda important overall to know, isn't it? Especially when making plans to meet up and all of that."

It has been more of a challenge than she had initially imagined, but she also had the advantage of having enough supplies and money to sustain her. A parting gift, she liked to think.

Hearing praise for it surprised her, but she quickly smiled. How blessed she was to know someone like Neff and have her support when she needed it.

"Thank you so much, Neff-sama. You are too kind."

Paying back Neff's kindness was going to prove to be quite the challenge.

"Hm? 'Phone'?"

A way to send correspondence, perhaps?

"I... highly doubt I do," she confessed sheepishly. "I fear the only way I know how to communicate is through letter and prayer, though the latter has proven unsuccessful so far."

That was probably an error on her end. Probably.

Spinel's gaze rested firmly upon them, studying the embrace close for any hint of it actually working... And it did. Eyes wide with shock, Spinel took a few steps forward, about to speak in refusal before the effect wore off.

And said rampage continued.

Even temporarily... Laquium's influence was halted by bonds. Impossible... It must be the because of Comfey's attack. Such is what he redirects his thoughts to. He needs to solve that issue. There can be no further weakness for Laquium.

The thoughts distracted him until Hikari was slammed into the ground herself. Dragonair was moving quicker now, a sign that is was free from its' condition. A fine attempt, at least. But as he assumed, without the power of Terastallization more harsh methods are to be used.

"She is. This, Hikari, is what Laquium can do. Now, just imagine for a moment if we could control her while she is like this. You may even be the key to that."

"It should be embraced."

A sigh, he supposed the display would need to come to an end for now, though. Results are noted.

"Hikari, holding back is pointless here. And I happen to have the perfect answer."

Reaching into his pocket, took out a Pokeball and released Ninetales. The air around them becoming chilled at its' appearance.

"..."

"Ice Beam."

The soft expression it wore dropped within seconds, as a harsh attack was launched with little mercy towards Dragonair.

'Embraced'?!

This was inhumane! Couldn't Spinel see the pain Dragonair was in? Couldn't he hear it in its cries?!

"Are you mad?" she uttered so quietly, only audible to herself.

Comfey and Mimikyu moved from their spots, rushing to their trainer with concern. Comfey immediately used Floral Healing without an order, wanting to help its injured trainer. "Fyy!" Mimikyu stood in front of Hikari protectively, but made no immediate moves on Dragonair.

"Thank you, you two..." She gave both of them a small smile before rising to her feet, just as the air turned cold.

Her eyes widened upon seeing the choice Pokémon that Spinel called forth. Of all the ones on his team to help wear down Dragonair, he chose the one she was most unfamiliar with?

"No! Wait!"

But it was too late. Dragonair was hit by Ninetails' Ice Beam and took critical damage from it. The divine Pokémon stumbled back with a cry of pain that was like a knife through Hikari's heart. When it recovered, it was breathing heavily and had frost over parts of its serpentine body.

Hikari reached into her bag, blindly feeling for one of her Heal Balls while her eyes remained locked on Dragonair.

The girl's lips curl into a sort-of-sadistic smirk at Hikari's reaction! "You'll regret feeding me soon enough, but for now... I'll have as many as they can put on a plate!" She exclaims, her stomach growling. "Nyahaha~! I'm not the Arbitrator of Gula for nothing, you know~?" She laughs again, thoroughly enjoying Hikari's reaction before throwing her gaze at the stall owner.

"Excuse me for just a moment."

Hikari fixed her cloak and pulled the hood a little lower before leaving Liber's side and approaching the stall owner with an apologetic smile. She quietly informed the owner she was purchasing their entire stock and paid with a gold coin as proof.

"Eight first, please."

After receiving the first eight, she returned to Liber with eight skewers of grilled eel, four in each hand, and a smile.

"I am afraid they do not serve eel on a plate, so I hope you can hold several in your hands. Is eight an acceptable amount to begin with?"

What scares her more: dying, or surviving long enough to lose everyone repeatedly because of her divine blood?

Surviving long enough to repeatedly see the deaths of everyone terrifies her the most. In death, she would, presumably, be reunited with people she's lost. She could grow used to it, but she'd still feel their physical absence.

Immortality can be lonely, and repeatedly watching the people she loves age and ultimately pass on, if they're mortal, would be incredibly painful and break her heart each time.

The pout didn't leave. "Ah, you got called too ? I don't know if he's worried, or really don't want to deal with the aftermath."

Usually Haru would just ignore the call in case they really wanted to stay out, but the kitsune wasn't entirely selfish. They weren't alone here, Hikari was with them.

Their own snacks and drinks were finished by now, the idol consuming way too fast.

"A small stop to buy snacks...?" Yes, Haru did completely overlooked the part where it was supposed to be for their manager.

"Now that you mention it, I think I remember a donut shop not far. We should go there."

And then go back, right ? RIGHT ??? Would Hans if he heard his protegee.

Excited, Haru was already on their two feets, looking at the fellow idol with excitment in their eyes. "They make a lot of different donuts with tons of different topings, that's really great !!" Yes, Haru didn't seem to care about potnetial weight - but after all, they weren't entirely human, though Hikari probably didn't know that.

"A donut shop?"

The sweet pastries sounded enticing as well, and after declining the offer to take one of Haru's cookies she could go for a donut, or a few.

And, two boxes of delicious assorted donuts should be enough to earn her manager's forgiveness she figured. She hoped.

Haru's excitement was incredibly contagious, her own mismatched irises twinkling with excitement. Hikari laughed softly and put her glasses and borrowed hat back on as she rose to her feet. She grabbed her drink to take with her, intending to finish on the way to the donut shop.

"Let's go then!"

She wasn't great at consistently eating actual meals, but was more than happy to indulge in sweets. Thank goodness for all the dancing and workouts she had to do.

"I'm excited to see their selection.~ I don't usually have donuts."

"One moment, ma'am," came the cheerful reply as the older man thrust a blade into a bucket of water to cool, holding himself away from the burst of steam with a practiced gesture. While that cooled, he walked up to his side of the reception desk, his gray eyes extra-striking among the soot on his face. "Now then, what c'n I do f'r you?"

He looked her over with an experienced eye as she explained that she wanted a hunting knife, calculating what length and weight would be most suitable for someone of her build. "If ya don't want somethin' ornate, I keep a number 'f premade blades in stock that I c'n show ya right now. Otherwise, I'd be happy t' make ya something custom. How much are ya lookin' t' spend?"

Gold and silver-blue irises lit up as her smile brightened while she was informed there were blades already available for purchase. She joined her hands together and nodded eagerly.

"That would be lovely! As for price..."

She reached into her pocket and brought out a small coin purse, opening it and counting her money in her head.

"I suppose I should not purchase anything too expensive, so... Perhaps something less than fifty gold?"

"It can be a simple knife. I only need it to cut fruit and bread, but it would be beneficial if it can cut through rope easily."

Joscelin watched as Hikari removed her boots and would bend to do so as well. The position stretched the area around the wound that was no more. It still was uncomfortable to do so presently. But he gave no vocalization of the fact.

Watching her come back from her bedroom he was about to say something about her offering her bedroom to him. But he thought if he would do the same for a wounded stranger and he says nothing as he realizes he would too.

"Thank you," the smile is genuine as he watches her move, that bounce in her step.

He swallows harshly and he takes a moment before he speaks again. Trying to keep the tears from materializing on his lashes. She reminded him so much of his Hara. He had never met anyone that made him think so heavily of his mother before.

"I think I can manage," he says at last to Hikari not wanting her to see an emotional reaction as she would not understand why. He bowed his head to her before he moved into the bedroom and knelt so he did not stretch anything further that was trying to heal. Pulling himself onto the futon and under the blanket, he sighs.

It was moments like the earlier that reminded him that no one truly healed from losing their parent, as a toddler, to a lifelong disease. Watching your mother deteriorate as you grew stronger killed you inside. As a twenty something year old you did not have the excuse to cry about it anymore, either.

Joscelin would sit up when Hikari came back, showing nothing of the struggle.

For a brief moment, she thought she saw Joscelin's lavender eyes appear glassy, as if there were unshed tears. However, hearing Joscelin's voice distracted her from focusing on them.

She stepped aside for him to pass and smiled as he passed by her. With him now resting, she got on to preparing a light meal for him and brewing a pot of tea. It would take her a bit to prepare her guest's recovery meal, so Joscelin would be able to sleep for nearly an hour.

Hikari would return carrying a wooden tray; on the tray was a small donabe, a bowl, spoon, and cup of silver-coloured tea. She paused, seeing he was awake and once again smiled brightly as she walked over.

"Ah! You are awake!"

Her eyes quickly looked him over for signs of discomfort before she slightly nodded in approval. He seemed fine so far.

She gracefully knelt down beside the futon and set the tray on his lap gently. "I hope you managed to sleep a bit. I have prepared okayu with salted salmon for you, it is a rice porridge, and ginzakura tea," she explained while gesturing to each item with her right hand, palm up.

"I apologize for not inquiring if you have any preferences or anything you are unable to consume..."

She moved so fast he was t able to react, oh she’s good. “I’d rather have your personal number, after all we can’t risk a mixup between work messages and mine.” He said loud enough for her to hear in the other room. Dio didn’t turn the tv on or anything like that he just got comfortable and waited for her to come back.

When she returned with the blanket he grabbed her hand as she tried to hand the blanket to him and pulled her onto him, wrapping his arms around her. “There we go, this is much better than a blanket but thank you anyway~” he just held her, not giving her an opportunity to escape.

“Oh? Are you alright? It feels like your heart is beating faster.”

Her response to his not-so-subtle request was laughter and a "Ara... I wonder what I should do?~" from her room while she fished out a blanket for her guest.

Upon returning, she found herself in a predicament. With little time to react, she was suddenly pulled onto him and felt his arms snake around her and holding her. Her face turned bright red, unaccustomed to such close proximity to someone. And then he had the audacity to comment on her heart rate!

"I-I wonder why... Maybe it's because of... you?" she asked, batting her eyelashes coyly.

Maybe a bit of free fanservice would be enough to convince him to let go.

"A-Ahaha~... Now, if you'd be so kind to let go?"

What would happen if she learned her father knowingly allowed her suffering for some greater purpose?

If she were to learn such a thing, she would be infuriated, enough to lose control of her power, potentially even triggering an ascension. It wouldn't be for her sake, she genuinely couldn't care less about the suffering she's put through, but because there was no divine intervention when she and her mother were separated.

He had the power to stop it all, to keep them together, to save her mother—HIS LOVER—but he did nothing?

"The Gods work in mysterious ways" is what she grew up hearing. "You're blessed," her mother told her, long ago.

"No, I'm cursed. The Gods are egocentric, selfish, and above all, heartless," she'd say.

"Ah. They should learn some empathy."

Before proceeding to unleash her fury upon her father.

Of course, this would be the worst-case scenario if she were to be blinded by anger.

The likely outcome would be that she'd ask what this "greater purpose" is and make her judgment about how to proceed based on her father's reason for not taking action and saving her mother. 

And whether she agrees with it or not.

And that remains to be seen.

Eagerly, his own phone was pulled out his pocket. The color red decorated with rabbits along the back, with a small rabbit charm hanging down since it was a symbol of his. Kamui went ahead and said out his number for her to store away, though not too loudly to avoid it getting leaked. He'll hum in thought thinking of a place to meet up with her. ''There is a cafe I like going to, it's never too crowded there so it'll be the perfect place to discuss things. ~! ♫'' He'd enthusiastically suggested,

''I'll text you the address, and we hopefully won't have to deal with anymore violent fans. I don't think it'll be good for my image if my pretty face takes more damage from defending you, haha.'' Kamui playfully joked, uttering a gentle little laugh.

''We can eat some tasty stuff too while talking. ~! ♫'' It'll be a nice reward for himself, forcing himself to endure all of this. But, it may be worth it in the end. Especially if his fans end up really loving this collab.

A few quick taps and his number was saved in her phone. She then recited her own number aloud for him.

The idol laughed sheepishly and rubbed the back of her head.

"A-Ahaha~... Again, I'm extremely sorry it even happened in the first place."

It wouldn't be a good look for her image either if a fellow idol, and a popular one at that, were injured because of her. The slander and misconceptions were something she couldn't quite afford at this current stage of her career.

"A cafe sounds lovely. I'm excited to see what it's like!"

"Ah! You'll have to let me be the one to treat you, though! I don't think it'll be enough, but I feel terrible about earlier, so the least I can do is pay."

Hopefully, Kamui wouldn't feel inclined to decline her offer because she wouldn't take no for an answer.

"You wouldn't need to worry about the price either! I'll have my paycheck before then, and I have plenty saved from my allowance," she added in an attempt to entice him to accept her offer.

Hikari enters friendships and relationships with little to no expectations, so she doesn't feel a compulsion to test people. This is because both times she was abandoned, it wasn't because they wanted to leave her. Or at least she's certain that was the case the first time.

There's no need to test anyone if she's putting in all the work, which she's happy to do. The fewer expectations she has of someone, the less it'll hurt if she's abandoned again..

a pause at her confusion. caspio froze, time seemingly stuck in place around him. suddenly, the air went stiff. suddenly, the grass appeared lifeless. color remains, life beats, but time remains ineffective. the entity is in shock. she doesn't know, does she? she really doesn't know. how sad. the entertaining stare slowly drains from his face, left with a confused and concerned look. what has he done? what would the sun feel now? it had been ages since time had seen it up close. it had been ages since he had left earth's atmosphere. a soft sigh.

hands ascend. they rest easy at his waist. fingers curl and grip at his bony body, held up by pure energy and light. the silence lingers betwixt the two. for a long moment, the entity is unsure of the next steps to take. in what direction ought he turn this toward? having been born in space, where near touches far, and far touches farther, it was an intergalactic network. he is certain that if hikari had no human blood, she could sense him. she could sense her father.

caspio decides to deescalate the situation, if only for a brief moment.

" oh, and i don't think i said my name! " smile returns. it's genuine. but it's obvious that it's a slight distraction to what is coming, if not to settle her in. head tilts as purple stare lingers everlastingly upon her features. she was beautiful. like home, but with a touch of mother earth. " i'm caspio, and i have an odd feeling we may have met before. and what name were you given? "

Why was he looking at her that way...?

Feeling a little self-conscious, she glanced down at herself for any stains or tears on her furisode, but saw none. A hand reached up t smooth down her hair of pale gold, slender fingers gently brushing down to her thighs where the cascade of silky hair stopped. In that time her gaze was lowered, she picked up on the strangeness of the silence between them.

The breeze, she could no longer feel it. She couldn't hear the blades of grass rustling or see them making waves. As if the world had gone completely still and silent. As if time had stopped.

Her eyes darted from the grass and up to him with curiosity now more than confusion. This was not her doing and she knew there was no one else save for the two of them.

The silence began to make her a little uneasy. Being stared at wasn't exactly a new thing for her, but for it to go on this long certainly was. Her pink lips parted as she took a quiet breath to speak, but a sound was never made now that he broke the silence by introducing himself.

Caspio... A name that wasn't familiar. Had they really met before...?

"I am pleased to meet you, Caspio-san."

Hikari returned Caspio's smile with a gentle one of her own as she bowed, hands resting atop each other in front of her lap.

"My name is Hoshino Hikari. Please, call me Hikari! And do accept my apologies, but I cannot seem to recall having crossed paths with you before..."
