Fanvid idea
So I was listening to "Rewrite the Stars" from The Greatest Showman and thought about how almost everyone in the Fantastic Beasts fandom creates fanvids of this song for Newtina. While I'm not bashing them or saying it's wrong (I absolutely adore Newtina), I do think there are better pairings that fit with the song's lyrics. After all, it's a misunderstanding/miscommunication that stretches them apart in Crimes of Grindelwald, not society or its standards. Perhaps there could be more fanvids of the song for Queenie and Jacob, and even dare I say Newt and Leta. Now before you attack me with your online weapons, I'd just like to point out that I don't ship them (Newt and Leta) unless it's in the past (during their Hogwarts days or any time before he met Tina). I think the song would be perfect that. Hear me out.
Basically, all of the second verse encapsulates Leta. Some examples include:
"But there are mountains / And there are doors that we can't walk through"
Basic idea of obstacles in a relationship or the possibility of one
... "just you and me within these walls / But when we go outside we're gonna wake up and see that it was hopeless after all"
When they're in their own little world playing with creatures, they're two close friends. When surrounded by friends or family, they are two very different people (not because they are different, but because society gives them labels that seem to divide them). To the outside world, Leta is a troublemaker, the rebellious daughter of a proud family. Newt, on the other hand, is someone who should never be seen with the likes of her (according to society). Imagine the rumours of a Hufflepuff with a Slytherin, especially knowing Leta's family background. I'm sure many wouldn't approve.
Not to mention the theme and tone of the song in general is one of longing without satisfaction or a positive resolution.
Anyways, just throwing the idea out there. If anyone wants to make it happen, I would love to see it!
