|• R U N W A Y •| ... #ThrowbackThursday To A Few Of My Moments On The Runway! ... I chased a dream that I had no clue where to begin, what I was doing, or who I could trust for guidance. Learned everything I needed to know by doing extensive research, attending many events, networking as often as possible, spent money I never had thinking every opportunity was going to be the one to propel me forward and was wrong. I watched contracts end w/o a thought and opportunities I felt I would fit I wasn't placed infront of. My struggle to really come alive behind the lens because life had my confidence hidden and insecurities in the forefront definitely hindered me🤦🏽‍♀️LORD! ... I could keep going but the point I'm making is: if you don't go for it, learn from it, and grow through it: you'll live with the thought of should a,would a, could a! I'd rather face fear and the unknown so I can say I tried or I went for it not knowing and nailed it. I may have experienced setbacks but my purpose and my goals are still apart of the mission. As I rebrand myself, reposition myself, & continuously heal myself I know the doors that are still ahead to open. ... No one held my hand and tho I landed a couple of great mentors on my modeling journey, I still felt so loss and I believe part of that was from the dark space I was in. It was hard to grasp a lot at that time. Since learning all I have and feeling the way I have I decided that I am going to try and become what I needed as a dreamer. |•#MondayMotivation "You can't judge a book by its cover, nor can you determine the power within by its size!"•| [email protected] #QOTD ... What an overwhelming day of breaking the ice that today was. Today, where this queen standing beside me, thought that today was just going to be a day where she visited a Juvenile facility with me as a guest speaker to help the young ladies navigate through my new self help goal setting guide book: she had no idea that she would actually unlock the door to the start of her own healing journey! See it's one thing to tell your story to people you know, but it's another to testify in front of total strangers & help at least one be motivated, encouraged, or hopeful to survive what looks like the end. We reach people, especially today's generation by, being relatable to them. So where I did share a piece of my story just close out & get into the purpose behind my 1st edition goal setting work book, I knew the young ladies in the facility NEEDED to see & hear @gnafeesah more than they needed to hear me!🖤 ... Proud is an understatement. Her peace is my peace just as her joy is my joy. I feed off of the energy of those around me & that I love so I want to see them flourish. I've watched this young lady transition back into society after doing 5 yrs in federal prison & surpass many. I've adored the mercy, grace, & love that GOD has bestowed upon her. His favor over her life is beyond what we can see but It's surely evident. This queen is walking proof of 2nd chances & I assure you, with her self determination, we haven't really seen much of anything yet. ... My love, I thank you! For accepting my invitation to be transparent with strangers who were relatable to you & NEEDED you, thank you! For trusting God to guide you from your heart, thank you! It's so hard to trust, I completely understand but at some point we have to find it in ourselves to ask the Lord for the spirit of discernment so that we won't block or miss our blessings. I know old friends did you wrong. I know your own parents weren't what you thought a parent should be. I know that current or ex lover has made you so insecure. I know you've been so hard on yourself & now because of all it, you have a wall up; brick wall at that: and it's for your protection. #IGetIt ... I've been completely paranoid before to the point that it felt like everyone was against me, trying to manipulate me, & just did not mean me any good. Now granted, there are people who will try you when you're at a low point, but there are some who are put in place to help you. It's hard to differentiate between the two: trust me I've been there. As I began to think clearer I was able to ask God to grant me the spirit of discernment. It was like I had been completely disconnected from my own gut intuition & now it was starting to be restored because people started getting ghosted 🤷🏽‍♀️ Leaning on the wrong people is such a sucky place to be, so I'd rather know I can count on one versus feeling like I can count on none. That isolated feeling is one uncomfortable space to be in. ... Don't be alarmed if you meet me and I address you as queen because in my eyes, that's all I will be able to see. I won't be able to see your shameful places, your scars, your insecurities, or anything that you've been trying to hide.
