Reborn Star
Chapter-5 The meet
People say that destiny never separates the two souls that truly care for each other. In a way it is true.....
The world around Vanitha didn't seem to be comprehensible. Instead, it looked like something abstract.
"Where am I? What this place called?" she muttered to herself. Moonlight was the only light source she had and far way orange flames of dim lamps flickered.
She stood up and looked around hoping to find something.
Her tent was not there so as Rohan and Kriti.
"Is anybody there? " Vanitha shouted but no one turned up. The cold wind blew gently and leaves rustled.
"Oh my goodness! I shouldn't have touched that emerald. Probably, that emerald is the sole reason for my existence here.. in this isolated place."
"I must get out of here as soon as possible. but..... how can I ? I have no idea what this place is and how to reach my tent. Ishvara, please help me!"
Just as she was grumbling, a baritone male voice called out.
"Yaar ange? (who's there)" Vanitha turned to see the source of the voice and her eyes widened in surprise.
The man had just dressed like a soldier from ancient Tamil era. The thing that intrigued her is.... he was wearing an armor carved with the face of a tiger.
"Who are you ,mister?" Vanitha asked with a slight husky voice.
The man was confused as he scanned her. The way she speaks Tamil in a different way and her dressing....nothing make sense.
"Naan dhan indha idathin kavalali (I am a mere soldier who guards this place)." said the soldier, his voice stern and suspicious.
Vanitha was perplexed. Nothing was right about him. His way of speaking Tamil, his dressing all caused her mind to spin in confusion.
"Penne.." he continued "Nee yar? veru naatil irunthu vanthirukiraya? (Who are you lady? have you come from a distant land?)"
Vanitha was reluctant to say at first for he is a stranger. But eventually, she had no idea but to say because she want to know what is happening around her and who is this intriguing man.
"No... I'm from Thanjavur. I don't know how did I end up here . But, sir, could you tell me what is this place called?"
The man raised his eyebrow in confusion. Something is fishy about this woman. But his instincts calmed him that she is not a threat. So he continued thus,
"Penne, This not merely a place. Here is where, The Emperor, Koparakesari Rajaraja Cholan is constructing a temple for lord Shiva."
His words lingered in air. The frantic words of that man made Vanitha to tremble. Her eyes widened and she began to sweat. Her heart beating so fast like a raging thunder.
"How could it be?" she thought as she tried to process his words. She rubbed her forehead and asked," Sir, this is which year?"
The man was amused and said, "1010 ."
That's all......
The world around Vanitha seemed to fall upon as she heard the year. The words of that mysterious woman, that emerald, her dreams, visions, delusions all clouded in her mind.
Then... it slowly hit her. She was transported to Chola era by that mysterious emerald.

For a moment, Vanitha simply stared at the ground. She turned to the soldier and asked him, "Is this Chakravarthy... Rajaraja Cholan's reign?"
The soldier nodded. Vanitha stumbled at this. She can't even believe this play of the cosmos.
"Penne, You have to come with me. I want to take you to the Emperor. He'll decide what to do." said the man. Chill ran through Vanitha's spines as he she heard this. She nodded her head , like a woman enduring the cosmos' play.
He took her to the palace. Her began to race as she was going to witness a thing which is far beyond science.
"Wait here." said the soldier as he entered the royal court.
Inside the royal court, There was majestic throne carved with the tiger's face made of pure gold. In that, seated a man whose aura was far beyond imagination. His sharp eyes, majestic physique and valour was exceptionally awesome. He was calm and composed and his face radiated the Sun. Beside him sat a woman, whose beauty was just like a goddess.
"Eezham konda Mummudi Cholan Rajaraja Thevar vaazhga! Arasi Lokamadeviyar vaazhga!
Rajaraja nodded so as Lokamadevi. "Enna vishayam?(what's the matter?)" asked Rajaraja asked his voice firm.
"Arase, I met a woman at our temple area. She looked so different. The way she speaks and the way she dressed was something quite abstract. She even looked so confused.... especially when I said the year." said the soldier.
Rajaraja and Lokamadevi exchanged glances. Gasps arise from the royal court. Something about her was weird for Rajaraja. A woman seated on the throne for royal members stood up. Her honey brown eyes sparkling with curiosity.
"How did she look like? she asked.
" She is so different from us , Nampirattiyare. She had a sweet aura with doe-like eyes. She looked innocent too."
"Doe-eyes?" thought Rajaraja. He clenched his fists and tension building up.
"Where is she now?" asked Rajaraja.
"I have brought her with me, Arase. She's waiting oustside."
"Let her in." he said. His voice curious.
The soldier bowed and went to call Vanitha and after few seconds he returned. Vanitha followed him behind. Her hands trembling and her heart beating so so fast that it could tear the pericardium itself.
Rajaraja gazed at their direction and saw a woman coming with her bent down. His heart beated fast.
Vanitha slowly raised her chin to look at him and then...... their eyes met.
Loud gasps erupted from the court. Lokamadevi's eyes turned wide as she gasped in shock. But more impact was from only one person.... Rajaraja.
The calm and composed king now stumbled by seeing her face. His pupils dilated, his eyes widened. That same doe eyes with that same luminosity..... same crescent moon face.....same innocent look.....but..how!
"Noooo..... it could not be possible! "He shook his head. the vison of him travelling with someone on a elephant, spending time merrily with her , plucking lotus for her clouded his mind. A tear rolled from his cheek
Vanitha looked at him with awe. She had studied about him in her social book, in her archaeological books but not even in her dreams, she expected to see him...truly.
For a minute her eyes locked with his eyes.
One was in the state of longing love
Another one was in the state of quests
While fate was in the state of mending both of their states.
