Elaboration on last post when I said “Tord was more upset finding out he was ace/aro than he was finding out he was gay”
(If you’re wondering how that’s possible, he’s demisexual but never made truly deep connections)
It took him several decades to realise he liked tom, mostly cuz his sexual attraction didn’t manifest in away he recognized. And when he realised he had feelings, it had been 30+ years of him living on the planet earth, and after all that time, he had little to no rizz.
“Oh shit, I think I’m bisexual.” — Carter Bennett, at the worst possible moment
Queer whovians, I need you!
I'm working on a project called "Jodie Whittaker made me gay" and I want your stories!
If Jodie Whittaker and/or her doctor who era impacted or helped your queer journey in any way, I want to hear about it. Where were you when you first watched it? Are there any episodes or moments that stand out to you, that feel personally special or relatable? Have things changed in your life since watching it? And why do you think having queer, especially sapphic, stories like yaz and the doctor's onscreen matters? I'd love to hear!
If I get a good response to this, I'm thinking of putting the stories together for a 'verbatim' stage show (using your words, but completely anonymously!) as a celebration of the 13 era and how many of us felt seen by it:)
So if you have a story, or know someone who does, please don't be afraid to DM me to chat about it. And please share this as widely as possible so more people can see it. Can't wait to hear from you!
Story time yall
I just realized my homophobic “friends” prevented me from realizing I was queer 4 years before I realized
god I said “realized” a lot in that sentence
ANYWAYS when I was in 5th grade-ish, I was with my “friends” in the school library, one of them asked another about Heartstopper. Now, Heartstopper is an amazing book that I love, and was probably what made me realize that queer is a thing I could be.
When asked about it, the “friend” said it was just gay porn. (It’s not) Now when you tell a 5th grader that a book is gay porn they won’t fucking read it.
I remembered the book and realized that the school wouldn’t put porn in the middle school library in 8th grade (ish) but at that time it was near the end of the school year, and I’d be leaving for good in just a few weeks, and queer club didn’t meet anymore.
And my mental health would have been so much better if my gay awakening was 3 years earlier. I’m one of the lucky ones, because I don’t have suicidal thoughts, dysphoria, etc., but still.
TL;DR “friends” delayed my queer awakening by 3 years by telling me the gay book was porn
U guys can shit on bkdk shippers all u want but I owe my LIFE to them 🙏🙏🙏 they're the SOLE reason I found out abt queer ppl, and helped me find out who I am.
I know it’s generally in good fun when making jokes about how young fujoshi in the early 2000s-2010s talked about queer couples (i.e. “yuri couple, yaoi couple, i see no difference love is love” or “if you police people’s identities you are not yaoiful at all”) but if you look at it from the lens of acknowledging that this, for many of them, is their first time even realising being queer was an option, it’s a very interesting study in realising that this is an attempt at inclusion from the perspective of someone who may not have ever heard of things like gender identity or sexuality beyond “boy” and “girl”.
Some Things Never Change
Fandom: Good Omens | Relationship: Crowley/Aziraphale| Category: M/M | Rated: T | Chapters: 1/1 | Author: SpectrallyDistracted
This is a friends-to-lovers, second-chance, queer awakening romance for @mizmak, my 2026 Fandom Trumps Hate winner!
Story Summary:
Crowley remembers back in uni, his head in Aziraphale’s lap, Aziraphale’s fingers carding through his hair, lulling him to sleep. He would wake up feeling so loose-limbed and relaxed he wouldn’t want to move. Even the thought of a party and a girl (and the sex that surely awaited him) wasn’t enough to get him to leave. So Crowley would cancel his plans, and they would order takeaway, share a bottle of wine, and… Okay, yes, cuddle on the sofa watching telly. But that didn’t mean anything. Did it?
