Claude Cahun, along with her partner-in-crime, Marcel Moore, tuned in to illegal radio stations for news on the second world war, then disseminated what she learned in pamphlets that inspired hope for the defeat of the Nazis. towards the end of the war, the pair were arrested by the Nazis, convicted of sabotage, and sentenced to death. the sentence was never carried out, but Cahun only survived three years after the war, in part due to her incarceration's impact on her health.

Fun thought experiment for Jumblr:

What’s the Jewish and Cohen status of a child born to a Jewish nonbinary parent (gave the egg), non-Jewish transgender father (carried the pregnancy), and transgender Jewish mother (born a Cohen and gave the sperm)?*

*if this is anywhere close to your actual family, this IS an invitation to come make friends and tell me all about it

Can Cohen status be transmitted by sperm alone, even if from a woman? What about Jewish status from an egg alone, where “mother” may not or only partially apply? In streams that would require the child to convert to be recognized as Jewish, how would that change Cohen status? If the father/carrying parent converts while pregnant, how does that change that child’s status? Is the child a convert?

The accounts that reblog my post about being spat on and abused irl for being Jewish with “well it’s justified cuz she probably supports Israel (even though we have no way of verifying that) and also she’s using white tears apparently :)” are like 70% queer AT LEAST. This is why I don’t feel safe or comfortable in queer spaces. If you are a queer Nazi you are a traitor and a horrible person. It is FUCKING RIDICULOUS how dangerously antisemitic the queer community has become, as a Jewish lesbian. You people are PRIVILEGED AND EMBARRASSING. In three years you won’t give a shit about this anymore because you will have moved on to the next issue-du-jour but us LGBTQ Jews will remember EXACTLY how the rest of the community treated us.
