please don't be afraid to join! i created this community becos in my experience, there are SO many of us that are queer in the solavellan community - you don't have to feel alone. we're here. :) this is for all those who have queer/lgbtq+ solavellan ships - trans, mlm, bi, poly, aro/ace etc.

I have a longer post that I'm trying (very hard) to finish writing that delves fully into Niamh's gender identity (and how it parallels my own.)

But I did want to post the initial thoughts that led me to wanting to write it out more clearly.

A lot of my hesitance to finish writing the post & talking about it is rooted in the unfortunate misogynistic/transmisognystic takes I've seen recently that rly make me ugghh. (And also contending with the feelings of why I feel I need to justify my and my oc's inherent queerness, when I do not. Being queer is who we are, and always have been, and I don't need to justify it to anyone.)

Anyway, the tl;dr is really that Niamh is nonbinary, moreso genderfluid tbh. And the ability to express that in the Fade, post-VG is honestly 110% wish fulfillment for me. But for them, specifically, it does stem from, and is rooted in the fact she never really had a choice, (a lot of Niamh's story is about gaining self autonomy and being able to choose for themself and not living for anyone other than herself.) and if she had been given a choice - all those millennia ago, well... Nimue wouldn't have chosen at all. To do so would have gone against her nature of constantly wanting to know more, and experience all that there was.

Anyway, there's a Lot more to it, and here's hoping i finish it before June is over 😩🤞
