Sad trombone. IVF is postponed to next month. I'd been giving myself lupron injections for almost two weeks, to prepare for a fresh transfer, and my belly was getting tender and bruised. Now it gets s to heal before we start over. My wife's ovary wasn't adequately suppressed, and had already started growing a follicle. Nothing to do but wait and try again. I've had a lot of lessons in patience....
I deeply appreciate my cute, goofy, butch as hell wife, willing to shuck her pants and undergo transvag ultrasounds and ovarian stims and egg retrieval. She shucks her pants, and sits on the table with one leg cocked, modesty napkin askew, making faces at the ultrasound machine. But we might have to wait a little longer. One lead follicle already taking the lead, before we could start the stims. Hopefully, it's just a one month setback. It's already been two years. One more month of waiting is nothing.
Baseline ultrasound
Getting up early after the holidays is hard enough, but we're up extra early for my wife's baseline. If everything looks good, we start loading her with ovulation stims tonight! This month also marks two years of our fertility journey. Seven IUIs, infertility diagnosis, two cancelled IVFs. It's been rough. But here we are. All hopeful and shit.
