yeaaa if they go down that route it'll be a MAJOR cop-out & such an injustice to his character like. neal isn't That Guy at all & there's no way to realistically make him That Guy in just 6 eps so here's hoping they do something good
what if something really big and shocking happens in episode 5
and then episode 6 opens with "one year later..." and neal is That Guy for half an episode and it's really weird and uncomfortable to watch, and confusing because of the shocking way episode 5 ended, until halfway through the episode they start to reveal that the whole thing is just the biggest heist he has ever pulled and he has scammed people for millions of dollars (rich assholes, not innocent people)
at the end of the episode we see him going into a bus and surprise there is alex, and it's revealed that she also played a part in the heist and they are running away to some kind of glamorous, exciting place together
the episode ends with peter going "dammit neal" and pulling his thinning hair in frustration
(okay, that's a horrible idea. it takes away years of character development... but it would be fun. bottom line: i have no idea what kind of ending i want, i just know what endings i don't want.)
