TC Oma showing that Grandma's are a force to be reckoned with! Cyclone watch in Queensland from Bundaberg to Ballina (in NSW).  It's been over 20 years since we've had a cycone watch this far south in Queensland (usually they are from Bundaberg upwards to Cape York).

The big problem is that there are 10 predictions as to what this cyclone will do - from heding down the Queensland coast to doing a complete u-turn and heading towards North Queensland.

Of course - this is also combining with king tides in Brisbane.

Currently Oma is 800k Northwest off the Queensland Coast and is expected to track south-east over the weekend, before turning back north and hanging around Hervey Bay/Fraser Island.

So the effects will be felt throughout the whole cyclone watch area for some time to come.

We're already getting the winds in Brisbane.  I hope we get some rain as well!

Daintree River at Daintree Village is the loveliest place and it provides camping. Just don't swim as plenty of the big prehistoric things with munching teeth are in the water. Arrêt à Kilcoy

Chaque jour nous devons trouver un endroit nouveau pour dormir, de préférence gratuit, pas trop sale et avec de l’eau, histoire de pouvoir se rincer un minimum. Grâce à l’application Wikicamp nous découvrons des lieux dans lesquels nous ne serions peut-être pas passés.

C’ets le cas de Kilcoy, petite ville(tte) commerçante dans les terres à l’Ouest de la Gold Coast. Nous avons pu y croiser un oiseau que nous n’avions pas encore vu, à priori fan, avec son copain, de notre Tiger :)

Wikicamp est une application collaborative recensant les différents camps de différents pays (Australie, Nouvelle Zélande etc). Peu cher, elle vous sauvera bien des nuits et vous fera faire le tour du pays comme vous ne l’imaginiez pas. Après quelques surprises sur la qualité des routes d’accès à certains camps, nous vous conseillons de voyager de jour, pour éviter comme nous de vous retrouver au bord du ravin sur une étroite route de terre en pleine nuit noire. remarque, c’est un bon moyen de tester ses capacités d’apnéiste ;)
