@quentincoldwaters wanted some eliot and julia as very good friends headcanons, so here we go, I hope you like them ♥

after quentin and eliot finally get together, eliot starts hanging out more with julia and they realise they have a lot in common

in some areas they’re completely different though but that doesn’t matter because they’re suddenly both ready to protect each other

they have the biggest smol/tol energy like on a night out julia is usually the hyped and aggressive one, especially if some random dude is hitting on her and won’t leave her alone, and she just goes off on him which eliot totally supports

but as soon as he realises julia is ready to throw some fists, he simply picks her up and carries her to the other side of the room but not without telling the dude off as well and giving him a short lesson about how to treat women properly and with respect

in conclusion eliot is usually the chill one while julia is always ready to go and start fights

other than that they have so much fun and they love hanging out with each other

they usually drag quentin along because he’s the designated mum friend who has to look out for them

he pretends to be annoyed but after a while he comes along voluntarily because he loves seeing the two people who matter the most get along so well and have the time of their lives

julia is very willing to tell eliot embarrassing stories about quentin from their childhood and eliot is always intrigued and looking forward to those stories

he never laughs at quentin though, only ever tells him how adorable he is while quentin turns red and wants to die of embarrassment

julia helps eliot study and is the only one who can kick his ass and actually get him to study

margo and eliot usually end up gossiping about other people and no matter how terrifying margo is, she’s never had much success in getting him to study but julia is doing a great job and margo is honestly grateful that someone came through to him

piggybacks are a thing

at all times, all day

sometimes julia tries to carry eliot but he’s too large, too lanky with his way too long limbs so it never really works out and julia ends up pouting

that’s when eliot picks her up and runs across campus with her on his back and it’s a miracle they haven’t broken anything yet or hurt themselves

julia drags him to fun fairs and shit like that and she gets super competitive when it comes to winning these fun fair games

if she doesn’t win a stuffed animal for each of her friends, she feels like she’s failed at life and honestly won’t go home until she has one for everyone

movie nights with the entire gang are a thing and they’re subject to julia and eliot‘s dramatic film tastes

they end up watching tons of dramas, romcoms and musicals to everyone‘s dismay (high school musical is their favourite franchise and yall can fight me on this)

but eliot and julia have the time of their life so they don’t really care, they‘re not forcing anyone to be here

julia has terrible nightmares sometimes and comes knocking on eliot‘s door because she can’t sleep

they would talk the rest of the night, about everything and nothing, before they found another solution

eliot now sings lullabies to her until she falls asleep

they often cook together and prepare meals for their friends, sometimes quentin exclusively because they both know he’s a mess in the kitchen and julia tells eliot stories about when they were in college and they had regular dinner dates because that’s the only time quentin would ever eat something decent instead of the million takeaways and pasta he would normally make

it’s no surprise they continue the dinner dates at brakebills but now eliot is a part of them, too

ALSO DANCE AND SING COMPETITIONS???

like penny bought a playstation for some good old gaming but eliot and julia took over and now they’re only ever playing singstar

and now matter how hard julia tries, she never beats eliot which is no surprise because even when he’s not trying but trying to let her win, he hits every note perfectly and wins anyway

but when they’re playing just dance on their wii? oh boy

OH BOY

eliot looks like a complete fool because his body coordination is literally non-existent and some of the songs are just too fast, julia, i cannot follow

whereas julia is going OFF and showing her best moves

so like,, one could argue that they aren’t really competitions because each of them has their own discipline that they’re good at but they’re always eager to beat the other at their discipline even though they know it’ll never happen

but oh boy julia is convinced the day will come and she practices almost every day to beat eliot

but he’s doing the same?? like don’t let quentin get started on the amount of times he woke up in the middle of the night because the other side of the bed was empty and he found eliot in the living room, playing just dance at 3am in the morning and apparently he’s been at it for hours already

quentin has stopped trying to convince eliot to come back to bed; he’s too invested in this game and no amount of convincing has worked so far, so he just gave up

however, sometimes eliot convinces quentin to stay up and practice with him because he needs someone to play against and quentin keeps telling himself the things you do for love and heavily sighs afterwards

their friendship is literally the most chaotic thing ever but everyone watches them with an amused, entertained look on their face

they never thought they would get along as well as they did but they’re super glad they gave this friendship a shot because they wouldn’t want to miss each other in their lives now

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I wish she hadn’t died in s2 like she obviously deserved better but I’m glad her alternative timeline version is still alive and I hope we get to see her more again!! I want to see her girlfriend and for the gang to meet said girlfriend and them being all cute and adorable together :’)) I also just generally want to see marina more and have her get closer to the gang, so she might open up to them a bit more and let them in and we can see some friendships developing?? idk I especially want her to have a deeper bond with julia
