Day 1718 - I wasn’t originally going to post this, but I decided to after reading about the recent attacks on transgender rights. The other day I was making certificates for something by updating the ones from last year. The original template said “his” or “her” piece and needed to be adjusted for each participant, which was a pain. In the course of working on that, I realized that there was no reason for a gender pronoun to be there in the first place and I changed the template. It feels pretty insignificant in the light of what’s going on now, but I think that there is also value in questioning our binary gender default and working to make the world a little more inclusive.
