Name: Andreia, but people usually call me Deia.  
Zodiac sign: Scorpio.  Height: 5′2, which basically means that I’m a little too short to be a stormtrooper.  Favourite Colour(s): All shades of blue.  Hours of Sleep: Not enough, considering that sleeping is one of my favourite activities.  Last Thing I Googled: Poems by the portuguese poet Miguel Torga.  Favourite Books: “I Shall Wear Midnight”, “Monstrous Regiment”, “Carpe Jugulum”, “Hogfather”, “Night Watch”, “Small Gods” (you see where this is going, don’t you?), all by Terry Pratchett. I love a lot of authors but every other book is so…not Pratchett? 
Favourite Bands/Artists: *SCREAMS TO SELF TO NOT START SCREAMING ABOUT FLEETWOOD MAC & STEVIE NICKS & JULIE ANDREWS & ELAINE PAIGE AND TO GET A GRIP.* Dream Job: Animal or Wildlife Photographer.  Currently Wearing: Pyjamas, because I’m recovering from a surgery and according to the doctors I must rest and stay inside the house to avoid the heat, so what’s the point.  When Did I Establish This Blog: According to my archive, in April 2010. I can’t believe that it has been 6 years already, because including all the hiatuses I went through it feels like 3 years or less.  Chief Content: LADIES. A LOT OF LADIES. BSG (because i don't know your least favourites, i think??) and HDM (because reasons).

lool omg it’s funny because it’s true. it’s been, idk, five years of flailing about bsg and we NEVER talked about our least favourites? well, it is understandable giving that we spent all that time crying and bawling about Madame Airlock and the Space Parents. i miss the old days. someday we have to do a rewatch together. *.* 

so, here it goes: 

favourite female character: MADAM FRAKKING PRESIDENT.(surprise!!) she is the driving force of the entire fleet. she does what she has to do to ensure the survival of the human race and fuck the consequences. she’s really passionate about the things she believes in (i mean, she has cancer and yet she puts her presidential obligations before her own health) and from the moment she’s elected president she always strives to be better at her job and we actually see her getting better and growing more confident in her position. the most important thing about her character is that she’s no hero and she knows it - she always accepts responsibility for her actions no matter how fucked up they are. and she always get the giggles before a debate. LAURA ROSLIN, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN. (and she was played magnificently by Mary McDonnell. even after all these years i’m still waiting for someone to give her an emmy)

favourite male character: crew of galactica, people of the fleet, this is Admiral Adama. (no, but are you really surprised?). he’s just so calm and has always the other people’s  best interests at heart, but at the same time he projects that cold-as-ice persona that instills fear and respect into all those around him. i just love the contrast. and yah sometimes he could be an asshole (just look at the way he treated lee) and he made a lot of questionable decisions, but isn’t that what makes him so flawed, so human?

least favourite female character: uhm, Cally? i appreciate how human she is, her stubbornness to fight for her beliefs and things that matter to her (even if sometimes she went a little too far) and i feel sorry for her, because she was a really sick person and constantly forced to be someone she was not. but…the writers never gave her the respect she deserved and most of the time her character was just…idk…there to make us feel sorry for the Chief? so, what i’m trying to say is that i don’t hate her, but, yeah, she’s my least favourite because of the shitty material her character was given and not exactly because of the character itself. does that make sense? 

least favourite male character: Chief. fuck you, Chief. and that’s all i’m saying about the subject.

favourite ship: SPACE PARENTS!!!!!!! the most beautiful and best developed love story in the whole history of television. it was such a beautiful journey right from the moment they met. Roslin and Adama may have reached the Earth in the end, but they had already found it long before in each other. they both were experienced and extremely practical people and it’s amazing that at that point of their lives they found solace in each other and were able to learn new things and redefine themselves together. FUCK YEAH SINE QUA NON. 

least favourite ship: Chief/Cally or Caprica/Tigh? that’s the question. 

show rating: this is hard. you know how much I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this show, but there are so many things wrong with season 4 that downplayed a lot of what had been established in the previous seasons and ruined a lot of characters. it’s for that exact reason that I’m giving it a 8/10 (please don’t be mad at meeee)

favourite female character: LADY MACBETH. INDISPUTED RULER OF MY HEART. she’s not afraid of following her heart desires - to the point of summoning the evil forces to take away all the feelings that may interfere with her plan. not to mention that she knows her husband better than anyone and what buttons to push to get him to react. 

favourite male character: Benedick. he’s cynical, self-involved and rude, but underneath all that there is a kind heart completely devoted to his lady Beatrice. he’s probably one of the few “jerks with a heart of gold” I love. (of course it depends a lot on the production too. right now i’m obsessed with charles edwards' benedick.)

least favourite female character: uhm no. all the Shakespeare’s ladies are the best and, without any shadow of doubt, the most original and complex characters of his works. 

least favourite male character: Petruchio. I don’t think I even need to explain why.

favourite ship: MACBETH AND HIS DEAREST PARTNER OF GREATNESS. drowning in their ambition and love for each other and always making me want to rip my heart out.

least favourite ship: probably Petruchio/Katharina. it’s a sick game of power where both sides are not on equal grounds so it’s kinda hard to ship them. 

favourite work: lol i’m so predicable, i’m sorry: MACBETH. a greedy queen, witches, a doomed otp, prophecies, murder, treason and where fair is foul and foul is fair. most formative play of my life.

OMG THANK YOU, because when I asked for books these were the ones I had in mind. Now let me tell you my obvious choices. 

favourite female character: MARISA COULTER WHAT A SURPRISE. always selfish, manipulative and power-hungry, but still choosing her daughter above everything. i’m forever grateful to Mr. Pullman for not giving her a unnecessary redemption arc.

favourite male character: IOREK BYRNISON. sorry Asriel i love you, but not even you can beat an armoured bear king with a strict code of honor and matchless blacksmithing skils. 

least favourite female character: nope.

least favourite male character: Lord Boreal (please stop fancasting Charles Dance as Boreal because it makes it harder to hate him which is so not okay).

favourite ship: YOU AND I COULD TAKE THE UNIVERSE TO PIECES AND PUT IT TOGETHER AGAIN, MARISA!!!!!!!!!!! HORRIBLE PEOPLE IN LOVEEEEE WHO ARE HUNGRY FOR POWER AND RIVALS IN EVERY SENSE OF THE WORD. AND THEY LITERALLY WANT TO DESTROY GOD. ASRIEL/MARISA IS A THING OF TERRIBLE BEAUTY AND NO OTHER PAIRING CAN MATCH IT IN ITS PERFECTION. (let’s not talk about how Asriel is jealous and resents Marisa for loving their daughter so unconditionally and without any reservations asjhdhdfksljsl)

least favourite ship: I don’t have one, because this is one of those situations where I ship and love every single canon pairing (even asriel/ruta). and I’ve never been in the fandom per se, so I’m clueless about the non-canon pairings it came up with. 

book rating: 10/10. a year ago I would’ve probably rated it lower, because I had only read it once while in high school and didn’t remember much of the plot tbh. but I re-read the whole trilogy again earlier this year and I was so mentally and emotionally affected by it it’s not even funny. growing up made me see the books in a whole new light.
