Why does Goodreads recommend sequels of books you haven’t read yet just because you are currently reading the second book in a series?? Like...what??

Customer: “Can you help me find something new to read similar to this?”
Me: “Yeah sure!” *Takes them over to a section with similar books and starts going through titles, only to get distracted by a new title on the shelf that you didn’t realize was out yet but that you want to read badly. also has nothing to do with their request* “And, um...uh...”
