Eddie's latest article, an exposé on two rivaling tech companies conspiring to flout anti-trust laws, had really taken off in the last week or so. He'd been fielding all manner of phone calls and emails from people who wanted to know how he knew what he knew -- among them, the Department of Justice. He could scarcely have imagined it two months ago... but then again, two months ago he could barely have imagined climbing into bed with Petra Parker.

Well... the bed had been involved one time. And there hadn't been much climbing, had there.

It had been a mind-blowing three weeks. Not a nightly occurrence, but it was frequent, and incredibly satisfying for him. And the look on her face every time said she shared the sentiment.

And then, last month, it had struck him that spring finals were upcoming. And nearly at the same moment he'd realized this for himself, she had texted him... and he'd known with certainty what she would go from there.

Sure enough, she had.

He'd known it would be a struggle to wait. They'd only just gotten used to the idea that they could contact each other whenever they felt that itch needing a good scratch. Still, she needed her focus, and she couldn't be a good student, a good heroine, or a particularly good lay if she was too stretched out.

And so he'd responded.

Four long weeks later, and there still was nothing from her. But Eddie is cognizant of it being finals week at ESU. And it's Thursday morning, to boot. She's got to be close to the end.

If she doesn't message him by tomorrow afternoon, he's definitely going to reach out to her. Weird? Maybe. But she'd want to celebrate, wouldn't she?

He wonders if she's thought about him as often as he's thought of her.
