We use a proxy bot on Discord, and we draw ourselves icons for our proxies when we can be assed to. It's neat to see the difference in art styles.
After that first time you slip a disc that same disc just becomes exponentially more likely to slip again in the future huh
Something unfortunate I’ve realized about myself is that because I apparently seem pretty unapproachable, like I come across like I don’t want anyone to talk to me, I have the general aura version of Severe Resting Bitch Face…the people who are the most likely to try approaching me anyway are also the people most likely to not respect my fucking boundaries.
Most people aren’t talking to me because they are incorrectly assuming I don’t want them bothering me. And so most of the people who do decide talk to me aren’t making that decision because they’ve realized I’m not actually opposed to human interaction, they’re very much ALSO thinking “Oh, he’s probably not interested in talking to me.” They’re just following up that assumption with an indignant “Well, I’ll change his mind, then!”
There’s a sort of “I wanna be the exception to the rule, I wanna be The Special One who you set your own preferences aside for, your perceived boundaries should be dropped for me” type of thought process going on, which leads to a lot of friction against my ACTUAL boundaries down the line. Whole time I’m just thinking “Oh finally, someone who doesn’t think I’m scary and actually wants my company, sweet” when they first approach me. I am TERMINALLY bad at identifying what is “I perceive a boundary and I take those as a challenge” vs “I correctly realize you just haven’t actually set this boundary in the first place, if you actually tell me to stop doing something then I’ll stop doing it.”
we as a society have GOT to accept that it is okay if we get blocked. you do not have the right to interact with every single person on the internet. "but then i can't interact with their content" yes that is the point "but i didn't do anything" no one owes you an explanation and you don't have to have "done something" to be blocked. let it go
Also we need to learn its OK to block people.
Always scared to tell people no or block them cause it might hurt their feelings.
YES. because, you're allowed to block for any reason, it doesn't even have to make sense for anyone but you. also, because it's ur social media experience, ur allowed to make that personal/get rid of things you don't want to see :3

Can you truly claim to be chronically online if you have not put your phone in a plastic ziplock bag so you can take it into the shower with you

When you start relating to Turn It Up by Sonic Syndicate and Jenny by Nothing More then that is probably your sign to start spending your time and energy on different people
Why do people seem to think “only ugly people are polyamorous” is some sort of epic gotcha insult
Even if it were true, that’s saying even ugly people get more bitches than you. Is that not a dramatic self-own.
Truly fucked up and evil that literally nothing in my area is open at night except for the bars and drugstores. Leaving the house in the summertime is only tolerable at night, the sunlight and the humidity gang up to fucking oneshot me as soon as I take one single step outdoors during the daylight hours.
I would be day drinking right now if it wasn't a horrible idea to do that after taking a strong dose of Benadryl
I am well aware of the fact that when people vent to you about their problems, sometimes they're not asking you for a solution. Sometimes they want to deal with whatever it is themself, sometimes they just want you to listen to them and understand what they're going through, sometimes they just want some emotional support. All fine and good.
But what do you do when someone tells you about something that is putting themself and/or others in active, immediate danger, and they say they don't want any help or advice, they only want emotional support and to be heard, and they explicitly say they intend to make the situation worse in spite of knowing it will cause harm to themself and/or others?
At what point does it become a matter of Being A Good Friend by not overstepping, vs Being A Good Friend by trying desperately to intervene in a suicide and/or murder attempt? What then.
imo, there is absolutely a certain point at which it is the correct choice to ignore their "Don't help me/don't stop me," and try to either snatch the blade out of their hand and/or warn other people about what they are doing. And yes, it may cost you that friendship, but still. I feel that is the correct thing to do, under extreme circumstances. I would not be able to obediently sit and do nothing while being asked to watch someone I care about harm themself and/or others, friends don't let friends go to jail or an early grave.
