STAYING THE NIGHT PROMPTS II @sasorikigai said: ❝ you shouldn’t be alone right now. i’ll take the couch, it’ll be fine. ❞ (modern au)
"Commander, you know you don't have to do that. We've talked about this. The security at my place is well-maintained."
Olivia hadn't expected Hanzo's apartment to be this... sophisticated. She was aware of the commander's minimalist lifestyle, down to how he never did anything flashy or tasteless, in both what he wore and what he carried on his person. The singer had wondered if the Hanzo liked anything outside of his job. A small duffle bag in her arms, Olivia steps barefoot quietly into the apartment of Commander Hasashi further, blue eyes glancing around the details of what he calls his home.
The thick smell of leather, fresh linen and something unfamiliar hits her nose, tickling her senses as she takes in the photograph on the commander's wall. One of black and white, in the photo there is mountains in the dawn, and Olivia wonders why he wouldn't choose something that would show off the colors of a yellow sunrise. The art and décor in Hanzo's apartment surprises her, a new light coming to her about the commander. Seeing a side of him that felt human and concrete. That her assigned guardian wasn't someone robotic or callous.
Keeping her belongings close to her, only packing the bare essentials as instructed, Olivia frowns at the commander in her observations, not looking at him as she remains focus on the photograph.
"I know what happened at the club was pretty ugly but are you sure this is safe for you?" She didn't want to linger on what happened but the distant memory of a horrendous bar fight that ended in bloodshed. All because of some kind of drug exchange that went sour. The details were all word of mouth from her backup dancers and the bouncers, but the commander insisted she not go home tonight, likely under the belief the trial she was involved in must be linked.
Maybe the commander wanted to make sure she was safe until the heat died down. It made sense logically. Hanzo's suspicion were never wrong. Not since the day they met. However Olivia didn't want to put her protector in danger, even if it his job, it didn't feel right that he brought her to a place that was meant for his confidentiality. Intruding on a place he called home.
"I can get a hotel, Commander Hasashi or.. or I can take the couch. I've slept on worse, I promise ya." She urges but experiences tells her Hanzo will stand firm on his decision. The man is stubborn as a tree in a storm since the day they met. Her duffle bag is set to the floor, her arms crossing over her chest afterwards, still feeling anxious at what happened at the club. She rubs her elbows as she looks at how he's already setting out a blanket onto his couch.
".... I don't think it's fair I should take up yer bed."
