I just realized I have a shipping pattern
I just realized that my three main ships are essentially the same. Apparently, I have a thing for ships where one person has daddy issues due to having crappy fathers and rough childhoods while the other person comes from a loving family.
FitzSimmons - Fitz’s father was a drunk, who verbally abused his son while it seems like Jemma’s parents seem loving and supportive of their extremely smart daughter (there is limited information about Jemma’s family).
Gendrya - Gendry grew up without a father though if/when he finds out who his father is, I doubt he will be impressed by a fat drunk who has multiple bastards across Westeros while Arya grew up safe and loved in Winterfell with a large family (yes, there are some issues with Arya’s self-esteem because of her mother and sister but for the most part, her family life was a happy one).
Zutara - After Zuko’s mother died, all Zuko wanted was his father’s love and respect instead he gets a power hungry father that challenges Zuko to an Agni Kai after he speaks out of turn because he wants to protect the people of the Fire Nation and burns half of his face when he just a 13 year old child before banishing him on a fruitless quest considering the avatar hadn’t been seen for 100 years while Katara has the love and support from her father and brother as well as the Southern Water Tribe.
