The Epitome of Mediocrity
First off... Check out these photos...
Are you seeing this? This is your typical Quick Chek sandwich. Mediocrity at it's finest... Nothing about these sandwiches are even a slice over mediocre. It's honestly the best word to describe these "made fresh" any time 24 hours a day sandwiches. You can honestly go into a Quick Chek (again, open 24 hours), go up to their touch-screen menu, and select a sandwich (or create your own). Someone will make it for you within minutes of you paying... While it's fantastic that you can get sandwiches at any time during the day (or night), the best you'll ever get from them is mediocrity. Everything about them deserves the word. A hot sandwich is never quite "hot"... Nothing ever tastes real "fresh", but it also doesn't taste old either... Judging by the photos of this so called "Italian Sub", you can see that presentation is not their strong point either. They toast the bread on all the hot sandwiches, and it's crunchy, but how the hell doesn't it retain any heat what-so-ever?! The quality of the ingredients aren't awful, but they're definitely a far stretch from "top notch". Not only is the bread they use pretty small, but the amount of meat/cheese they put in the sandwiches is pretty laughable. Don't worry, they'll load it up with lettuce, tomatoes, and a ton of onions that will just somehow fall off as soon as you open the tightly wrapped paper. Often their greatest feat is some of the specialty sauces and/or condiments that some sandwich recipes use. Actually, if it weren't for these sauces/condiments, I'm sure most of these sandwiches would fall below mediocrity, but somehow - they always manage to retain that word. Yeah, they will fill you up... but all you can say afterwards is... "Wow, that certainly was mediocre... I could have probably gone without that."
Butterscotch Cupcake Coffee from Quick Chek is so good, oh my god.
