The cricket is on so I am watching and making a quilt sandwich. Next up I will chuck a few pins in it to make sure it holds and it will be good to quilt. Looking forward to getting this UFO out of the sewing room.

Test driving sashing ideas.
When I got home from my run this morning Hubby was working on his new wood working bench. He is making a good job and managed to get all the peg board up today. Yesterday he did the shelving under the bench and tomorrow he will make the last draw. After lunch we watched the Black Ferns play South Africa in the quarter finals of the world cup. Good game and it gave me time to finish stitching the binding onto my batik table topper quilt. I am pleased with it particularly since it is made from left over blocks.
Friday evening stitching in front of the telly. I found quite by chance that my thimble can attach itself if one doesn't keep it under control.
All the kits are made up for the triangles that will square up the big blue star hexie quilt. It will take a while to make all these rows up and stitch them all together and then add them to the quilt. My target is September/October this year. How is that for a bold prediction. I have to take a break for a while to help quilt a baby quilt and make a wedding quilt so I won’t be getting many hexies sewn together for a while. Let’s see how it goes.
I spent the afternoon in the garden. It was lovely out and there are always weeds that need pulling. I also made tail number 3 for the Easter bunny quilt. I think I have got it the right size and it is sewn tightly so it will last. I was hoping to get the quilt spray basted so I could start the quilting during the week. I was out of spray baste and last time I bought some it cost $30 a can. This time it was priced at $35 a can so I left it on the shelf. Hubs spotted this brand at Bunnings for $14 so he grabbed one for me. I did a test sandwich before going out in the garden. It stuck well but has made the sandwich very rigid and it has a strong chemical smell. I am not sure I want to use it although it might be ok on a wall quilt I suppose. I will have to do some research and see what other methods I can use. Hmm decisions decisions.
I’m trying to make a tail for this cute little bunny. This is tail two but I’m not sure if it will hold together so I might have another go.
