This quilt top took me a whole semester to design and prep (the blue and pink fabrics are hand dyed- meticulously, and requiring multiple baths) and three days to put together. The pink stripes are made out piping! A LOT OF PIPING: about 27 yards of it! Piecing with the piping wasn’t too difficult and it makes the surface wonderfully textural and, as it turns out, structural! I’m designing a fabric to print for the back... and also thinking it might get tassels??? I’m loving this direction and excited to make a few more quilts in this vein.
